NBA trades are bananas, and they definitely have the most collusion between athletes of any of the leagues.

Sometimes I feel like they've reached a foundation for a trade and then just start adding players for fun. Pick your shittiest 2-3 players, throw them in on each side, let's add a 2nd round pick in 8 years while we're at it. Done deal? Naaaaahhhh, phone rings and it's a 3 team banger now with 6 more shitty players added. All in a day's work.

Right hand dman are the most coveted players in the league. The Flyers have realized this and have:

- Ristolainen signed for 5 years at $5.1 million
- Deangleo signed for 2 years at $5.0 million
- Ellis (who only played 4 games last year due to injury) signed for 5 years at $6.25 million

It's because of the soft cap. In almost every trade teams have to jump through crazy cap shenanigans to get the salaries within 120% of each other.

That, the limited number of picks, and the stepien rule preventing teams from trading first round picks in consecutive seasons.
