We keep Essy on his two way contract and keep him here should he perform well on the 4th line the next two weeks. No real money lost, all upside.

PEB to Philadelphia, plus Hayden Fleury, a 6th round pick this year for:

Ivan Provorov

The move would give the 4th line a tad more speed, with no loss of lack of scoring between Names and Essy.

We gain on defense and worst case?

We trade Essy and Peb(instead of Fleury) plus a 6th and bring up Volkov who does have playoff experience while gaining Provorov.

I think Ivan is a JBB/Cooper kind of player and would flourish in our system.

The Canadiens are asking for a first-round pick as part of a deal for Edmundson, who has another year left on his contract. Montreal seems willing to move him, but might hold off until someone’s willing to pay up.
