My current lines if i had my druthers:

Hagel - Point - Kootchie
Colton - Paul - Stamkos
Jeannot - Cirelli - Killer
Balcers - maroon - Perry

second and third line are not chronological, they can be used situationally for when you need more defense or offense.

same for fourth line, against a grinding team you can have maroon, for a fast/less physically imposing team (like the rangers) bring names back at center (He's good defensively!)

At this point there is not a single game where I'd pick PEB over Vladdy, and I'm far from a Vladdy fan

With the Jeannot move we now have the space to get Balcers up and use him, we HAVE to try that option, he's probably better than most 4th liners we could scoop up with a move rn.

Hypothetically, we could send PEB down and free up another 1m in cap space (1.770m), Moving Vladdy would make that 4.270m. Moving Myers would make it just about 5.7m in cap to get a 4C and a RHD upgrade we could dip into the 2026 draft if we really want to but probably not the best idea. Howard, Duke, Huuhtanen, Alnefelt, and Finley are probably are biggest value prospects. Alnefelt might be wise to move on from now since the most he will ever be here is a back-up.

I really don’t get why we won’t get Balcers some games in when we were carrying 8 defensemen.

And I would love to know what JBB really thinks about #90. That signing didn’t make sense at the time it was declared and makes even less sense today.

Defense wins championships. This team's defense isn't it. Realistically it's a first round exit, a much needed long off season of rest and then JBB has to rebuild the defense over the summer with whatever cap he has. There's some decent peices there but we don't have the benefit of Prime Hedman anymore. Serg has stepped up points wise but still not quote thete for #1D. Cernak is another valuable peice but always injured. Fluery and Myers shouldn't be in the lineup

While I tend to agree...

1) Let's wait to see if JBB tries to somehow upgrade our Dcore

2) Let's wait for the first couple of playoff games to say that about our Dcore. We all know by now that the guys pretty much just don't give a f*** during the season and float to the playoff, where they then start actually playing hockey.. I know it isn't reassuring for us fans, but it has been the trend

Agree that was a big part of our recipe and we lost it when we lost mcd. We need to fill that hole I think because it's not the same as it was when we went deep and teams are better now than they were. It will be a challenge for sure.

Yeah, definitely need to add to that..

I'm still grumpy about us signing Names this offseason, things could have been way easier at this point of the season if we signed someone actually useful

Is the dman going to be a ufa rental, or is JBB only looking at guys with term? I think it could be a LD as well, as they can move Cole to the right in that scenario. Kulikov, Seeler, Benning, TVR, Fabbro, Borgen, Soucy, Dumba, Stecher, Brown, Bortuzzo, and there are probably some other names out there as well. Some of these are probably unavailable due to cost or team not wanting to sell, but there are options for JBB here.
