Mccartney is the only hope to salvage the 2020 class. I assume the two swede kids won't turn into anything because the coyotes don't tend to hit on swedish forwards.

Looks like Wisconsin as a whole is having a bad year. The team is averaging only 1.9 goals per.

Tony Granato gives an interview here where he admits he's at a loss for answers.

issues with the NCAA clearinghouse - whatever that means.

Probably means his registrar or counselors messed up and didn't get all of his paperwork and transcripts to the NCAA in time. This actually makes a ton of sense considering he was saying he was going to Colorado after the draft and then a month or two later he all of a sudden was a commit.

He seems to be laser focused on making this USHL experience be as successful as possible, though. Like if he’s stuck in that league he’s going to make sure he’s the best player in it and that his team wins the championship.
He's also putting up huge numbers on the worst team in the division...it's not like Chicago which has 4 of the top 5 scorers or one of the other top scoring teams in the league. Relative to his team's production, Miko is absolutely killing it.

Yeah, the article reads like he’s trying to Will the team to victory. The numbers support that. Chicago really is a different class of USHL team, though.

Cooley suspended for that hit last night against Michigan.

It was rather dangerous and a cheap shot. The coaches review for missed major penalties is also an interesting rule.
I would have just kicked him out of the game yesterday. Instead he is allowed back and has a 1+1 performance.

I think Lamoureaux is back tonight

Nope. I was wrong.

I see Bantle got off the snide and finally got some points.

Nice one-timer

I don't really like Russian players (prospects). There is always the possibility that you will stay in Russia and that the pick was given away. See the story about Thikonov back then. They often think they are better. Not all, I realize, but in general. :)

But I like the development of the 3 Russian top prospects and I'm excited about all of them. Duda, Fodotov and Daryin are all playing KHL at the moment. This is strong and everyone gets good ice time.

A. Duda (18) RUS (#36/2022) - CSKA Moscow

12 GP - 3 assists - TOI/G: 10:20 min - SFT/G: 16.9

What's interesting is that he hasn't drawn a penalty in the KHL so far. In general, Duda draws hardly any penalties. He had drawn 2 minutes in the MHL this season and before that not one in the whole year 2021/2022!!!

A. Daryin (22) RUS (#107/2019) - Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod

9 GP - 3 goals, 1 assist - TOI/G: 9:36 min - SFT/G: 12.9

With him I always thought he was such an overbearing talent that thinks he can do everything and doesn't have to do anything to make it happen. Am surprised that he has made a step up so far and is currently playing in the KHL. But it's also quite possible that his team relies a lot on young players, Fedotov was also part of the team last season at the age of 18. Still good.

I. Fedotov (19) RUS (#43/2021) - Nizhnekamsk

7 GP - 2 goals, 1 assist - TOI/G: 11:31 min, SFT/G: 14.8
Fedotov's 7th game has just ended, the goal is included in the stats, the shifts and ice time are not!

The change/loan to another team did him good here. The ice time has grown significantly and so has his role in the team. He now plays mostly in the 2nd line.

Fedotov goal versus Vladivostok 11/25 Nice individual effort on the goal.
Unless they trade for him, people will always think of Matty Knies with this pick. To be fair to Fedotov, both he and Doan were selected before Knies. He needs to play big minutes to develop and so far it’s been an improvement moving to Niznekamsk. 15:21 today, 13:20 in the previous game, and 12:00 against SKA (11/19). He has a long way to go, but he’s young. I like that he is versatile enough to take draws and plays with an edge for a smaller player. What is he? Just seeing official site has 186 cm and 83 kg.
