So Adam Engstrom played 3rd pairing RD for Rogle today in Championship League Hockey. I thought I'd watch a bit of it and was not expecting much.

They were playing Zurich, who have a really strong team offensively. Andrighetto & Yannick Weber both play for them.

Engstrom had a shockingly good game. I expected 10 minutes tops. He played almost 20 minutes. William Wallinder put up a couple of points, but got buried defensively.

Engstrom is a big boy, really strong skater & moved the puck quickly & efficiently. And, when I say move the puck quickly, I mean quickly, it was to a forward almost as soon as he had the puck. A really good transition D.

I'm going to try & watch him some more. This was very much a, "wait, why was he a 3rd rounder again?" game by him.

On entirely different note, Zurich's home arena is really weird. The team's benches are like baseball dugouts, and they're fully covered. Lol
He's a total sleeper yeah
Our first 6* picks this year really are something else man

Petteri Nurmi also plays his first Liiga game of the season today. He is HPK's 7th defenseman. Last week he played one game in U20 SM-sarja as a conditioning stint.

NICE! I was looking forward to his return. I will update my post. It will be Kapanen vs. Nurmi.

I just saw that Nurmi played 1 game for the U20 team also. No points, though.

All my homies love the Adam Michaels recaps

He's bigger. He's legit at least 6'2, and he skates like Guhle. I definitely want more watches. Wasn't expecting a 20 minute game from him in a Championship League game that's for sure. I went in thinking #6D, 10 minutes tops, and hopefully, he doesn't look overwhelmed. I had low, low expectations. Lol
He skates better than Guhle to me. His crossovers are really good and his hip shift is strong and fluid.

Its hard, very f***ing hard not to get excited by him. I swear I saw him play last year and he did not look like this and he looked smaller lmao (Always was a good skater though. )

Hello HFHabs,

I didn't see him on the list in the OP for the thread, so my apologies if he's been added to your watch. But Lindenwood University has your 2019 7th round draft pick, Kieran Ruscheinski in his freshman NCAA season this year. So far through 4 games (vs. Minnesota & Michigan) he has had good quiet games, 9 shot blocks which places him 4th highest on the team in that stat category. LU is in their first ever NCAA D1 season, the head coach is former Red Wing and St. Louis Blue defenseman, Rick Zombo.

Here's a profile in the OP style for you all to add in.

Kieran Ruscheinski - Lindenwood University
schedule- 2022-23 LU Men's Hockey Schedule

The next chance for anyone wanting to get a look of him is this weekend as the Lions host Air Force. The broadcasts will be streamed for free on the Lindenwood website.

Happy prospect watching!
He wasn't signed in the summer of 2021, his rights dont belong to the Habs anymore.

Thanks! It completely slipped my mind his rights would have expired since he wasn't drafted as an NCAA player! I just assumed he was on the 4 year NCAA timeline.

Kostenko isn't playing again today. Is he injured? Or benched?

Nobody knows. It's a real mystery.

I use Flashscore to check on scores (particularly for Europe). And when you check in the line-ups for the games, they have a section of "Missing Players" which lists guys who are out with an injury. Kunlun has 3 players out with injuries, none of them being Kostenko. So this could simply be him being a healthy scratch.

His last game was September 28th.

The last few games he played, he was listed as the 7D. His before last game, he only played 3:16 and the last game he was in the line-up for, he played 8:33.
