The critique @BlueDream had of our 4th line was spot on, our 4th line is Acciari and then crap. It's not that you need a 4th line a decent point production, but they better provide something. Great on forecheck and cycling that allows you to keep zone pressure and cycle a top 9 line in, a collection of great PKers, a high energy line, something. Our 4th line just hasn't provided that at all. Alexandrov has potential, and in a different year would probably be fine being up, but this isn't the year for that.

What are we even doing with Neighbours? He wasn’t ready the last time he was up, so then we bring him back up a couple weeks later when he didn’t even have a goal at the AHL level. Now he’s back down after a couple games.

Just stupid. Keep the kid down there until he actually proves something instead of yo-yoing him around.

This team is a dumpster fire and a risk to peoples growth and future. He needs to stay down there until this mess is sorted out this offseason.

I've mentioned it elsewhere, but we need to keep Neighbours in the AHL this season. He looked totally worthless during the start of the year, he hasn't exactly lit up the AHL, and in his brief second stint, he looked just as worthless as before.

Parayko is getting to the point where I'm just kinda over him. It's all between the ears with that guy. He has all the physical tools to dominate this league, he just doesn't seem to have that special edge competitively that the greats do - A few games ago he was rushing up the ice, drove the net, and just bodied the guy trying to cover him out of the way, leading to a scoring chance. The sad part about this was - HE LOOKED SURPRISED. Like dude, you're a f***ing giant that can bench a house. Of course some 6 foot 200 pound dude can't stop you! I don't need him to be prime Chris Pronger, but good god man, realize that you're the biggest/strongest/possibly even fastest dude on the ice and use that shit to your advantage! Again, for the people in the back - YOU'RE f***ING UNSTOPPABLE WHEN YOU WANT TO BE, PLEASE ACT LIKE IT.

Parayko has zero instincts in the offensive zone. He also has no ability to make a play when rushing over the line with the puck. I don't think I've ever seen him rush into the zone, make a primary dish, score. He can't do it. (Maybe I've seen it but if I've lost it in memory then it's the exception. It's rare.) He understands the puck needs to get deep into the zone so sometimes he skates behind the opposing net, but possession is almost always quickly lost. I mean, nothing approaches the epic falling down behind the opposing net haplessness of Eric Brewer but there are shades of Brewer.

If you gave him a rangy shutdown partner approximately the equivalent of himself you'd have an elite shutdown pair, something you need in order to challenge for the Cup. That's what we saw before and we could see it again if the Blues ever acquire that player. Parayko is talked about like he's a unicorn but he isn't. He is a solid top four defender who doesn't have enough help. Those who want to keep him and retool around him are earmarking him for this rebuilt shutdown pair. It will be easier to acquire that one player than trade Parayko and acquire two two players for a shutdown pair. Blues would have zero shutdown defenders if they trade Parayko.

Parayko doesn't think the game well period. He's also not confident in his decision making which downgrades his physical advantages.

I get the idea of keeping him to not have to rebuild the defense from the ground up and if the team can turn their own soon to be UFA forwards into valuable futures then I'd understand not trading him. However I think he's the kind of guy who could get a huge return and I don't think he's so good as to immediately shoot down a really good offer. Honestly I don't think ANY of our D are that valuable.

His contract limits the "huge return." I mean he could get a 1st+ I'm sure. Could he get a 1st+blue chip prospect? That's the minimum for a "huge return" IMO and I don't think he returns two premium pieces. If we are talking a 1st and a can't miss NHLer then I'd consider it but I really doubt that's available for him.

Yeah by huge return I mean the latter value you described (1st + blue chip type value) and obviously it would have to be a desperate Cup contender that thinks he puts them over the top.

Bingo. He’s one of those happy go lucky guys that’s just appreciative to be in the NHL. He made it as a solid player, he got his contract, he’s content with that. He doesn’t have the drive to be anything more.

A little curious if/when Highmore could be called up. He’s played the last 3 years in the NHL and his production has been great in the AHL. Perhaps they’re rewarding Bitten for his great training camp, but I would’ve thought Highmore would have been called up by now.

That's got to sting a bit for Highmore and Frk who are playing point per game hockey in Springfield.
I thought the exact same thing.

However, I lean toward what @bleedblue1223 posted that this is more of a youthful buzzsaw opportunity instead of another old veteran getting yet another crack at the NHL.

If you look at the upcoming schedule, it’s not hard to see this team 10 games under .500 by the end of the year
