The disdain stems from all the plays he killed in the offensive zone. I'll give you the zone entries. He was very skilled at that, but he was definitely the weak link on that line and that's why he was replaced with Lehky In the playoffs, even when healthy.

That says less about Burakovsky and more about how good Lehkonen is.

I'll never understand this board's disdain for a guy that paced 60+ points all three seasons here and was a great playoff performer.

Burky was a streaky bastard when he was here, but that's also the only reason we were able to trade for him in the first place. If he wasn't streaky he would be a Panarin-level player, but he is what he is and overall he delivered exactly what we needed from him on the 2nd line to give us the depth scoring punch that won us a Cup.

He’s streaky but also doesn’t have the hockey sense to be a regular contributor when he isn’t scoring. If he was average defensively he’d be a damn near elite talent, if he were above average he would be elite
