Forgive me for asking though...isn't part of the problem with Hockey Canada the fact that it did and still possible does continue to use money from the girls, youth and para hockey programs registrations to fund the settlements? I get that the advertising dollars during televised games and events is probably a much larger sum of money but am unsure how that all works on the business side.

Really nice to see a large corporate sponsor, one whose name is ingrained in hockey, take a stand. Major kudos for that.

When you fail to buy a single UFA year from your star player it's a terrible failure. The AAV isn't low enough to compensate that.

He's going to get traded in year 3.

I guess he misses the RFA cutoff by three weeks, which seems like a pretty huge oversight on the part of his agent.

Eh, still not sure I'd go that far, but regardless they got him for the short term, probably won't matter a ton once he hits UFA age since some core players will have long since aged out.
