How? Lawyer just said it wasn't them.

When a lawyer representing these six specific players is already on the offensive saying he's gonna sue for defamation, that's a far cry from the statement, for example, that Conor Timmins (NOT Conor Timmins' lawyer, by the way) released.

So...the Hockey Canada thing just keeps getting worse. And now, this.

Looks like they've narrowed down the eight players involved.

Clause and Kyrou were supposedly weren’t at the event during the alleged incident. But I think that it sounds like some of those guys listed would definitely be involved.

Do statements saying "I wasn't involved, I didn't say anything, I didn't know anything" really mean anything? It's not like anyone who was involved would come out and say that.

Johnny Gaudreau on Spittin Chiclets says he was basically signed with New Jersey when Columbus called at 4:00pm and he told his agent to get a deal done with the Blue Jackets.
That's too bad, He would have been a better fit in N.J and that's close to were he is from. I don't understand what's so attractive about Columbus.

He said he basically they wanted a buffer zone, be close to family but not that close to where his house has an open door policy of friends and family.

In the end all the "he wants to go home" takes were actually wrong about the guy. He didn't want to go home. He wanted to be closer to home but he made it seem like he REALLY didn't want to be in the same city as family/friends for basically the rest of his NHL career.

"Closer" as in 5hrs drive..at this point if you have to take the plane being "not as close" is not a real issue. Especially not if you leave 10M+ on the table.

He wanted to GTFO of Canada, that's what it was. Just like Petry.

Disagree. If all he wanted was to gtfo of Canada, he'd have signed with NJ immediately.

He waited until late afternoon for a reason. He did not want to be around family/friends 24/7.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills reading everyone’s conspiracy theories, both on here and from the media, for why he signed in Columbus when the answer is staring everyone in the face: He wanted to.
Nah. Seems far more likely that there is an active warrant out for him in NJ for his role in a Ponzi scheme in the early 2000s. He leveraged NJ to get an offer from Columbus to evade the NJ state police, and where he can instead start his own cryptocurrency $GDRW, and perform an exit scam in a few years pocketing a few million from unsuspecting crypto investors.

F***ing hell he did. Do you like the smell of ass and Drew Carey? Do you?!
Drew Carey is more Cleveland than Columbus, but he supports all of Ohio. ;)

Columbus is actually kinda nice. Might be the only place in Ohio that is, but people paint it like the worst parts of Detroit… when it is better than Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh..

Oh, shit! We’re on to you, Gaudreau! Let’s see if Johnny Hockey can outskate Johnny Law!

Maybe Gaudreau just likes Columbus?
Maybe he himself doesn't specifically, but how about his wife? Maybe I've misread this, but I thought that Columbus is basically ideal for her career. Columbus seems like a great place to raise a family (not that any NHL city is really awful if you are a rich man TBH).

Apperently Tkachuk to St.Louis rumors are going off. Not ideal for us
Not a surprise, but they have to give out good pieces to make it work. But the games should be interesting in the future should Tkachuk land there. I imagine many, many and many Tkachuck vs Landy/MacKinnon fights incoming...

Yeah Columbus could be a nice step for her career. There is enough for him to want to be there and it is pretty hilarious on how somebody could possibly like a small midwest city! The nerve! Columbus is pretty nice. Not Denver nice… not Newport Beach nice, but nice.
