In a program built around 90s throwbacks, the Sabres had two shots with top tier source material and they produced two middling to bad uniforms.

I think this kid is going to disappoint relative to expectations. Hot take but I just don’t see it. Great shot, creative playmaker but not dynamic enough skating for his size. If you’re expecting McDavid you’ll be upset he’s closer to Guentzel or Point. Good player but not generational.

Not necessarily true. Guys like Angelo Esposito and Sean Day were hyped several years prior to being drafted but amounted to nothing.

I think Bedard will be very special but I think people should temper expectations. I don't think he'll be McDavid.

Bedard’s hype in on a different level than those guys. He’s in the Crosby, McDavid, Lindros tier hype.

Yeah, I do think he’ll be a little worse than McDavid. Just doesn’t have McDavid’s physical gifts.

I see more of a McDavid/Kane hybrid. My guess is he ends up better than Kane and shy of McDavid. He’s without a doubt going to be a franchise level talent.
