Especially in a draft like this. Not sure about the defenseman available, but maybe add another dman to the pipeline. Or add a young forward piece to make one expendable to move for a dman.

They've lost every game by like 1 goal. They've been plenty competitive.


Edit: They have positive advanced stats as well. Above 50% in Cosri, Scoring Chances, High Danger Chances, and expected goals.

I really did expect St. Louis to regress this year, but I didn't expect them to be this bad either. Thought they'd be in a dogfight for a wildcard spot honestly.


They look like utter garbage. Goaltending bad, O'Reilly awful, the supposed two young superstars Thomas/Kyrou have been bad, the Defense is a disaster.


...Hate to say it but they could be a sleeper pick for a bottom 5 season and right in the thick of the Bedard/Fantilli/Michkov sweepstakes.

ROR is a big part of their failures this year. Be careful what you wish for

On the second line next to some combo of Landeskog, Nichushkin, and Lehkonen? I think he'll be fine.

Under no circumstance would I give him an extension, just a pure rental. He's one of those guys you already knew wouldn't age well.

I'm just pointing out that was a lie. They're plenty competitive. One goal games tend to balance out over the course of a season.

It's bad for sure right now. If my choices are Newhook, Rodrigues, Compher, or O'Reilly rebounding then I think I'd still take that chance.

The price would obviously be a factor as well. If he looks washed throughout the season then I can't imagine he'd cost a ton but you never know. There's also the question of whether you'd even want him if he still looks like this in February.
