Hartman and Reaves scare me.

It's adorable that in the which wildcard team is the scariest on the playoff board there's a Mild fan saying the Jets are scariest since they target players with cheap shots.

Wild playing Reaves in the playoffs is a win for whoever they play.

I don’t want to play them just because it’ll piss me off so much if they lost compared to anyone else but the joy of ending their season is enticing just as much.

Eller has been solid, and I don’t expect a lot of offense from him. We play our top 6 75% of the damn time anyway, so getting bottom six scoring is going to be even more rare when they play way less and on PK. We’re a sound defensive team throughout and Eller is a part of that. I wish Landy would come back so we could see Eller and Lehky together here and there.

Why is that?
Is he done? Does he want to play again? If he does or doesn't, shouldn't someone of that stature in the organisation get a mutual announcement? I'd be mortified if Landeskog made it to the end of his contract and right before his last game the GM put out a statement saying "we're not re-signing him good luck if he goes anywhere else."

Maybe I assumed he was closer or more certainly at the end of his career than I realised but it's all a bit weird.

So Edmonton (49), Colorado (49) and Vegas (50) are the only three teams in the west who could actually hit or break 50 wins. Litterally everyone else from the Wild cards to Dallas has 46 lmao. #1 in the central has the same amount of wins as the last wild card spot.

Calgary sits above Nashville by three points with 3 less wins.

I'm f***in over the loser point.

I dont know if I can take another loss to the Wild in the playoffs. Its been 10 years since the last one and I still havent fully gotten over it. That Granlund OT goal still pisses me off. f***in Marc - Andre Cliche standing around

Well they can't announce for him he's probably going to retire and wanted to give him a final salute. Only way he comes back is if he takes like 2/3 of next season off, does a minor league PTO for the contender he wants to sign with and then gets brought up to the big club if he has no setbacks like what happened to Foppa on his attempted comeback.

Honestly though, why would he come back? He made his money, won his Cups, will get his number retired and will get into the HOF. What is there to gain in coming back now earning a token amount of money?

This has the vibe of "he's not invited back after this last game and he's already turned in his fob(s)".

When Getzlaf went last year it was a mutually announced thing. If I was Toews I wouldn't keep playing either, which is the bit I don't get.

It's perfectly fine if Toews doesn't have an answer as to whether or not he wishes to continue his career. Conversely, it's also perfectly fine if the Blackhawks want to move on and make a clean break.

They're doing him and the fans a solid by leaving no uncertainty. This is it, tonight is the last time you see him in a Hawks jersey. I have no problem with that, and if it happened with Landy I'd be okay with that too. Sad, but okay with it.

Personally, Toews can go f*** himself, but he'll get a rousing sendoff.

Hextall was always a very weird hire considering his strengths and weaknesses, but that's what you get for hiring Burke and allowing him to play the "old boys gang." They are still in the win-now mode and what they did to that defensive core in the offseason should get everyone fired. It wasn't that going after Petry was horrible, the bloke had some great seasons right when they traded for him but he fell hard. Then trading Marino for I believe salary cap issues because of getting Petry is then another pile of hurt on top of that. The injuries also didn't help on their defensive core which predominately included Petry in that list with Dumoulin also falling off considerably. They should've hired Hextall during their rebuild who is a solid drafter and builder of teams, but absolutely pathetic at everything else.

What??? You gotta be joking.
Supposedly it is an incentive to not act out accordingly and get suspended again.

I mean, if Toews had a great buddy playing on another team, I could see him doing the Paul Karyia/Teemu Selanne thing and sign a one-year deal to play with him. But does anyone actually like the guy? I can't imagine Capt. Serious has that many friends.
