They pale in comparison if Toronto goes out.Think of all of the Jeannot jokes if they're one and done!

I actually think the Leafs fans are pretty reasonable, at least here on HF. And I don't hate them per se, team is fairly likeable (or at least not hateable). But when they lose, it's such a big source for entertainment. That's why I will always root against them.Used to get most annoyed of Leaf fans and wanted them to lose most, Oilers have over taken that ever since their heads got so big after they acquired Lidstrom oops I mean ekholm
That's just smart management, not tanking. That's no different than, say, an NHL team that traded its 1st but that pick is top 5 protected and they are currently sitting at 5th and need to not fall to 6th.
They are blatantly and deliberately trying to lose in order to get their protected pick. The context around it is completely irrelevant. That's just smart management, not tanking.
Tanking is a full season effort. Dallas did everything possible to make the playoffs before pulling the plug with 2 games left because all they could do was qualify for a play-in tournament in a season where their superstar is clearly not fully healthy.
It makes zero sense for them to pursue that spot and give up a top 10 pick for nothing. They were a Western Conference finalist last year. They are banking on being better next year so the pick they give up is worse.
And there is nothing wrong with that because it is the final game or two games of their season after 80 games of doing everything possible to make the playoffs. Context is absolutely relevant. You can't paint every scenario with the same brush just because you feel like it.They are blatantly and deliberately trying to lose in order to get their protected pick. The context around it is completely irrelevant.
That could happen in the NHL too and that's the whole point.
If they lose in round 1, Dubas, Keefe and Shanahan are out. They pale in comparison if Toronto goes out.
Wow, back on the bench. Looked like his arm brokein two.Provorov looks like he just broke his forearm
Validation of Bednar if anything.I get what you're saying, but when you don't have issues with just 1 out of every 5 people... just maybe you're the issue and not the other people.
I quite like Kadri and he's the furthest thing from the problem in Calgary right now, but he's always been a first line level talent that is incredibly frustrating and better off as a #2. In that role, he's best when he's the main offensive driver too and you surround him with guys who can feed him the puck. If you take him out of these situations, his flaws start to show more and more.
They got swept in the Cup FinalWhatever happened to the team that won 62?

2 slots before, the Avs took Conner Bleackley...
Pretty sure it’s the worst pick in Avs history, according to AJ he’s the only first rounder in the last 15 years to never get an NHL game. Even at 23rd overall that’s just stunning. My least favorite Avs pick bar none, even at the time.
There were a few guys in 2008, 2009, 2010 and IIRC 2011 or 2012 drafts who also didn't get NHL games but point stands.Pretty sure it’s the worst pick in Avs history, according to AJ he’s the only first rounder in the last 15 years to never get an NHL game. Even at 23rd overall that’s just stunning.
He was touted as one of those high compete/lunch pail guys and somewhere between his +1 and +2 draft years just completely lost his way. I mean it was just such a stark change IIRC. I’m sure the truth is far more complicated but man, sure feels like that kid got into something he probably shouldn’t have. There were a few guys in 2008, 2009, 2010 and IIRC 2011 or 2012 drafts who also didn't get NHL games but point stands.
What amazes me is just how much this guy tricked scouts. He either had enough skill to be a 1st round pick but didn't give a f*** about hockey (doubtful since he still lingers in the Coast) or scouts saw something in this player that just... wasn't there.
It's okay, I also posted recently when they inevitably fail and make changes asking which one we should go after. No they weren’t. Neither was available. Jets were going to give at least one more try before one of those centers forced their hand.
We all know where Dubois wants to go, and I don’t care if he’s potted 50 or more, I don’t want anything to do with that toolbag Scheifele. The only time he plays physical defensive hockey is when he has the chance to take off someone’s head.
I’ll admit the Avs could do way worse than Scheifele as a 2C, the talent is obvious. I just don’t think he’s a great guy to bring in a locker room. But for one year? Sure go for it.It's okay, I also posted recently when they inevitably fail and make changes asking which one we should go after.
Understand that they probably would not parted with him or the others they were keeping the band together.
I disagree on Scheifele next year at 6.25 mill I think he would be a perfect 2c for us for 1 year.
Unless we have any other answers or options that make more sense. He'll Also be in a contract year and will have the Kadri effect on a contender.
A new start on an established team with strong leadership which the Jets don't have. Who knows the possibility.
A team that has been in the dumpster going on 15 years and arrogant beyond belief. lottery picks for years and still ineot. Due it in the playoffs. For my money they are looking better but do something before you became so arrogant. You got swept last year and it wasn't closer. I want Toronto to go on a run to be honest. I think they will beat Tampa. They went through what Colorado and Tampa did, they have taken the lumps. I'll say it again, slay the first round demon and watch out.Used to get most annoyed of Leaf fans and wanted them to lose most, Oilers have over taken that ever since their heads got so big after they acquired Lidstrom oops I mean ekholm
