Good for Adams. Always gonna root for an ex-Vancouver Canadian. Also because maybe it helps push Thornton the brink of no longer being in this bullpen.

At least Thornton is rightly being used as a sacrificial lamb rather than getting a high leverage situation. He still sucks though

Can't wait for the season post-mortem where they can try and figure out how a team that is +120 (maybe +150 by the end of the season) in run differential finishes 4th in the division.

Not selling was a big mistake. This team is not close

Team needed BP help from opening day. management was dumpster diving instead of being aggressive.
Trading a kings ransom for Berrios who was the hottest arm on the market seemed both out of charactor for this front office and poorly timed.
Berrios will get 10 or so starts for the Jays this season, probably get 7-8 decisions. Not enough to make a difference with the pen in shambles.
Last year the team acquired Robbie Ray and Taijuan Walker for pennies on the dollar and had good production from them. I liked that play a lot better.

Also someone put an SOS out for Thomas Hatch the multi inning RP that pitched to an era of 2.73 last season.
WHY has he not been up with such a massive void all season in the 7-8th inning?
Saving him for the odd start down the stretch that may not be required. BRUTAL asset management.

Berrios was acquired as much for the fact that he's under control next year as he was just to provide a boost this season.

Also you can't trash management for going for value propositions in the pen while applauding them for doing so at last year's deadline. It was the same basic type of trade, acquiring talented guys with warts or rough patches hoping they would bounce back. It's hypocritical to suggest that management was good for doing it with Walker/Ray and bad for doing it with the pen when deciding factor is hindsight.
