Don't care about the result. Thornton shouldn't be used in that situation. There really isn't any rational for using Thornton in that spot.

Montoyo makes these kind of decisions regularly and its cost us games.

That just seems like bad scouting though, or maybe an assumption that his raw talent would turn into a future outcome. Upton has been poor/lazy defensively his whole MLB career.

Buck says tons of dumb stuff but this wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list.
