I hope Semien gets re-signed. He's been so valuable this season.

It may be a tough fit, Semien is 6th in the entire league in fWAR, if he keeps this up, his floor contract maybe $125M over 5 years if LeMahieu got $90M over 6 years after a shorten season, is a year older and has inferior defense.

Semien is a top 5 defensive 2B this season and in the prior 3 seasons he was the 6th best defensive player in the league according to FG's DEF rating. He is on pace for a 7.5 fWAR season, which is right there with JD's 2016 season (7.6 fWAR). Not to mention Semien is a leader, low maintenance and extremely durable. Reminds me a lot of prime Russell Martin being a complete player.

I like Semien a lot would like to keep him but i dont know if signing him to that contract makes sense with Martin and Groshans coming. Now if we traded Biggio then maybe Semien staying makes a lot of sense.

I proposed Biggio and Tellez for Chapman and Olson a few months ago. Wondering if Oakland values the years of control for those 2 who will be free agents in 2.5 years. Probably would have a to add a decent arm and prospect like Kay and maybe someone like Otto Lopez.
