Honestly, I would rather see Kevin Smith up in the majors over Rowdy at this point. If you are exclusively a first baseman you better be hitting if you want to stay on the roster and well, Rowdy certainly isn't doing that. Biggio can play first on days that Vladdy needs some rest.

Really hope Kirk is back soon and that they promote Otto Lopez to AAA. I think Lopez is an advanced hitter who can spray the ball to all fields. Rowdy is pretty much a pull hitter that is easy to pitch to and defend. .all teams need to do is throw fastballs high and off speed down. Rowdy rolls over into the shift and is easily handled.

I'm high on Murphy as a potential late-inning reliever so I hope he is given the chance to prove that

I definitely like power arms that can generate ground balls. If you do get into trouble a guy like Murphy can generate strikeouts or GIDP which are inning savers

Two plus pitches in his fastball and curveball and the ability to generate ground balls. Hard not to like that profile as a reliever. If he can continue to locate his sinker on the glove side of the plate like he did tonight he will have plenty of success.

Unpopular opinion: I would have left Panik in and run the contact play with Vladdy at third. Panik has a habit of hitting infield choppers and half the Yankees infield doesn't know what they're doing.

We shall see though. Hopefully Espinal comes through.
