I'm guessing it's defensive interference

Panik didn't block him. Pretty sure the first contact was the helmet with the glove. His hands went to either side, and Marte's helmet didn't hit Panik until Panik had the ball.

Man, Vlad is so overrated. Remember all those times he was projected to be an elite, difference-making hitter when he came up. Boy was everyone wrong on that one. :sarcasm:

Vladimir Guerrero Jr: solid base runner who isn't a detriment to his own team on the basepaths.

File that under "things we probably never thought we'd say."

Panik set up to catch the ball in the basepath.

There was nowhere for Marte to slide without hitting Joe. If he had taken the extra step, Marte is out no matter what, but he decided to be lazy.

Funny how the super sub is showing poor defense at third (without factoring in his srm).

Pretty sure interference actually has to happen though rather than just he was in the way before the tag. Marte slid towards the bag without any delay, he had room to get his hands in there, did get in hands in there(after the tag) and didn't contact Panik until Panik had the ball, the tag was the first point of contact. For what it's worth the play by play says call upheld, stolen base. If it were ruled interference I'm also pretty sure it would say so rather than just ruling it a stolen base with no mention of the interference. I also think interference is ruled an error on the defender which the Jays have none tonight.

edit: Should have it been interference? I don't think so but I guess one could argue that. That wasn't the call though, they just completely butchered it. Luckily they got the next guy so it didn't matter.

I get they got him up when they had a 3 run lead(save opp lol) rather than the current 4 run lead, but when you only have 1 and a half trusted relievers I think I would have used Cole instead even with a 3 run lead. You've got to be able to trust someone with a 3 run lead other than 2 guys because you can't use the same 2 guys every night

Jack looks really sad for some reason.

Armstrong with that hockey flow.

It's so minor leagues . I think some AHL rinks do it? Can't it like...trigger seizures or something?

Just for legal coverage I imagine they would've had to test against the possibility of seizures or harming anyone with sensory issues. But even still... I can't imagine that they tested this system multiple times to make it work and not one person piped up and said "you know, that's gonna get really old after the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th time it happens.'
