Pearson is last years Vladdy. This season may be rough, next season may be his breakout.

Just needs to establish his fastball and throw it for strikes.

The one thing to be said about Pearson:

Remember when Roy Halladay had like the worst qualified ERA ever as a rookie? Things turned out OK.

Not saying he needs to do the full Doc treatment and rebuild his delivery. Or even that he needs to go back down and find himself. Just that sometimes guys struggle until it clicks for them.

Are you supposed to look at the plate when you pitch? Seems like it would be helpful

Just to add, he hasn't pitched many innings in his career.

pearson needs to focus on whats gotten him this far. establish the fast ball in out up down then go to your offspeed. at this point he doesnt seem to have a pitch he can just throw for a strike

Given how he looked in the playoff game last season maybe it would be an idea to put him in the pen for just a couple weeks. Let him make a few appearances where he can come in and dominate like he did to get his head on straight then say to him "See? You can do it easily if you're not too tightly wound" before putting him back in the rotation.

Pearson needs to grow some badass facial hair or something. He looks like a scared teenage hayseed on the mound and is throwing how he looks.

Yeah he definitely looked like a deer in the headlights again. The Astros feed showed a couple close ups of his face and he had that "shit do I even belong here?" Look.

Tough for him. He hasn't gotten as many innings even in the minors like a lot of the big ticket pitching prospects did and the combine that with the injuries he's suffered...definitely hasn't had the the most straightforward road to the show.

Did that triple go right through Rowdy's legs?

He needs to go on the Vladdy diet, the guy has no excuse for his obesity given that his potential career is hanging by a thread.
