Jansen probably realizes it's now or never for his spot.

Even if he can be a passable hitter, combined with his defense you've got yourself a legit starter. Not like catchers are expected to slug,

Javier's leaving a whole hell of a lot of juice over the plate. He left a slider and fastball hanging against Vladdy and Teo too. Both of which you could tell they were pissed they missed on it.

Still, Grichuk is proving me wrong when i said he was the next piece of dead weight to go.

The Jays have only the third most IP out of the bullpen. Tampa being ahead isn't surprised given how Cash likes to manage but the Padres are a bit of a surprise. You'd figure with that pitching staff they'd get a little more mileage out of their starters

Thought for sure it'd be worse.

Looking like another long night for the bullpen. I have a hard time believing they will be able to keep up their stellar play with this use.
