You're up 6-0.

Time to use Chatwood!!!

Now up 8-0.

Time to use Dolis!!!!!

I don't mind using Dolis, he's off the DL and in both 2019 and 2020 he struggled to get in a rhythm to begin the season. Use him here, see how he looks, and let him get a rhythm before pitching any important innings.

My issue is more using both than anything.

With all the injuries it isn't exactly ideal using two of your three reliable relievers in such a lopsided game.

I'll say one thing for Charlie:

At least he's not out there throwing one of his own players under the bus for violating an "unwritten rule of the game" like Tony LaRussa is.

Don't see many people complaining about management anymore. They have built one hell of a team, with some really good kids still in the system.

Matz, Ray, and Semien are on one-year deals but they might want to stay. Even if they don't, the team has a lot of prospects to trade and salary to sign free agents.

Management has done a fantastic job and this is how a proper rebuild is done. They have made a few mistakes but no one is perfect.

I'm not sure Semien would want to stay. This whole proposition was a year to rebuild his value and the way things are going he's going to cash in. Would he want to come back to the Jays and play 2nd or go to a team that would pay him big bucks to play short? And would the Jays want to pay him top FA dollar when they have other highly toutedIF prospects on the way up to fill that hole while being able to allocate the money to other more difficult to fill holes? Do you give $20m+ for several years to Semien? Or do you buy some more pitching and bet on one or two of Groshans, Martin, Martinez, Hiraldo or the like being good to go in 2022 or 2023? (side note, props to Fangraphs for apparently suggesting that Manny Beltre's ETA is 2021 while he'll still be just 17.:sarcasm:)

That said I'm not disagreeing with the kudos to the front office. The fact that the Jays are in a position where they don't have to feel compelled to throw big money at a guy who's about to cash in is a nice problem to have.

Stripling sucks.

Of all the moves they made for pitchers, Stripling was the one that i was like nope. At least with Matz and Ray, you could look at their body of work, see the flashes of potential and go "yeah alright." Stripling just felt like them grabbing cannon fodder to stick at the bottom of the rotation.

well thats not a good start.

got a random question. did our commentators start the Player comment before or after the babcock player comments became a toronto meme . i cant remember them constantly saying hes a Player hes going to be or he is a even as of last year really . its really caught my attention in the last week

guess manoah might be getting striplings next start. if they lined them up in the AAA and mlb rotations

Get the pen warm.

Game's far from over with the Jays bats but if you leave him in any long then it will be over.

Apparently the Jays offered him a 4 year deal as well but the number wasn't high enough for Semien, I could see the Jays being interested in the medium term, and this is Semien's big deal so I doubt he'd be opposed to 2nd, though if it's for term I could see the Jays moving Bo to 2nd at that point since Semien's the better SS and and at that point it wouldn't be a 1 year disruption for Bo it'd be long term. He'll likely go wherever the most money is though.
