I think I'm at the point where we probably have a 5% chance of winning this game so I'm hoping Roark gets wrecked, and that 5% chance of winning is a valuable sacrifice if it means this is the last time Roark plays a game for the Jays

He's threw about 4 strikes so far, 3 of them have been HR length foul balls, the 4th was a RBI double

edit: 5 with another RBI double

Remember his like a diesel engine, after he gives up 5 runs in his first 2 innings then we'll see the real quality, veteran pitcher show up.

Maybe the threat of Roark on the mound is enough to scare the offence into action so they'll score 10 runs (since any fewer wouldn't be enough to guarantee overcoming Roark's awfulness. Though even 10 probably isn't enough for sure) and that's how they'll win?

Or maybe a meteor hits the KC dugout and they have to forfeit the game. That's probably as likely.

leaning toward #2

Ryan Goins has better stuff than Roark. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a worse pitcher in a Blue Jay uniform.

This is why I consistently pushed back against "we can get pitching at the deadline" talk during the offseason. We need it right now or we might not be buyers at the deadline.

I don't get what the Jays have done with Biggio. They put a perfectly good 2nd baseman anywhere but 2nd base. I just don't get it. Why not get a real 3rd baseman this past winter?

at this point i would prefer tellez at first vladdy at 3rd and biggio back at second..semian can dh lol

edit: this is if semian wont play 3rd

Brad Mills

Ha fair but at least he was a prospect. The fact that Roark is a big UFA signing makes it somehow worse.

Danny Jansen is turning into Josh Thole. Starting to reach the point where it’s difficult to look at him as a long-term starter. About to go below the Mendoza line for his career.

Many pitchers are currently injured.
I don't think Ross Stripling is the answer to our prayers.

Maybe Ray holds up, Maybe Matz holds up, Maybe Pearson can string together some quality starts. It was just very reckless to enter what should have been a window year with this much uncertainty.
