Personally wouldn't want to go with Arbitration for Vladdy all the way along. I want him locked up before the talk of free agency becomes a real thing. Arbitration next year and then start the talks on a long term deal.1 year ~6.5 million in arbitration/settlement next year
1 year ~12 million in arbitration/settlement the year after
1 year ~20 million in arbitration/settlement the year after
At that point you might see something other than arbitration/settling just prior when he has just 1 year of team control left. The Jays don't have any reason to risk paying max value now when they can use the process and see later and Vladdy doesn't have any reason to settle for less now.
