Man, if only he had power. :sarcasm:

I must admit he's pretty good at hitting routine fly balls I mean Yankee stadium homeruns :sarcasm:

I know he's got real power too, but it's fun to take advantage of some cheaper homeruns

The only thing this batting order lacks is an elite lefty bat and maybe a Ricky Henderson type base stealer. But top to bottom there's no hole when Kirk is starting.

I still think Semien should be at 3rd or SS. Bo is very sketchy at SS and thinks he's Jeter. Semien is/was an excellent defensive SS.
Jeter was a very sketchy defensive SS lol. Jets was my favourite player at the time but it was quite clear he made his $ at the plate and not in the field

LeMahieu is the biggest bust of the offseason.

OK, maybe second after Lindor.
I admit I was totally wanting the Jays to go and get one of these guys last off-season, goes to show what I know. Even still tho Lindor has been the biggest bust by FAR. At least LeMahieu had many years of out-performing his contract on the Yankees so he's relatively safe from the critics, for now at least

"....the Blue Jays offered LeMahieu a four-year, $78 million contract."

Isn’t this like the perfect time to use Pearson? Medium leverage situation?

Jeter was very clearly not a SS. But, ego's get in the way. When A-rod went to the Yankees, they had arguably the worst defensive SS play SS and the best defensive SS play 3rd. It made no sense. Jeter had a big ego, as did Rodriguez. I don't think anyone had a bigger ego, actually(Rodriguez).

LaMahieu I think was the 1 guy I didn't want to touch with a 10 foot pole. He's been an league average hitter or worse far too many times in his MLB career for me to pay big bucks. 7 of his 10 years prior to this year he's been sub 100 wRC+ and this year he's 101. Kind of like Semien actually who had just 1 amazing year entering this year(2019) and a bunch of league average years and got the 1 year 19 million dollar low risk contract that deserves. LaMahieu's 2 best MLB seasons playing in that Yankee ballpark also scared me.

Pen and Springer's health aside the Jays basically couldn't have had better offseason acquisitions. I just really hope Springer's health isn't a long term issue because he's been amazing when healthy.

I'm fine with using Romano here. No need to mess around here, put Romano in to close it out. We saw what the pen did vs Oakland when we were up 10-3.

Potentially could have Merryweather and Pearson available tomorrow if you need them. Plus Richards and Cimber.

Romano only threw 13 pitches. Maybe he is available tomorrow.

Romano has pitched back to back 8 times - these were the pitch counts when he went back to back;

22, 13, 12, 9, 20, 14, 10, and 19.

No doubt, he gives us the scariest lineup in baseball if healthy imo

He doesn't have Vladdy power, but 'smack it to the fences and maybe 15-20 of them make it over the wall to go with your f***-ton of doubles' is still power.

100% agreed.

Arod's been getting more W's since retirement though. He runs an extremely lucrative real estate business, co-hosts a podcast on Barstool, and dated J-Lo (his business and podcast could've both failed and he'd still be a winner in my eyes getting to date J-Lo lol)

Jeter meanwhile has been s*** the bed since taking over as Marlins CEO

Jeter has made hundreds of millions and slept with every attractive woman in showbiz despite being a weird looking dude. Let's not pretend that ARod wouldn't have done shit without being a freak athlete. I'm not even taking sides here, it's just laughable that people think Arod is some mogule. Hes a moron with half a billion to blow.

That's fair. Jeter lived every man's dream during those 20 years with the Yanks lol
