How about checking some classic games in Youtube? Would that help?don't get me wrong I understand the descision and am totally aware of the situation of hospitals in Switzerland. It is, however, a little strange that the announcement was only made today, it was foreseeable. And yes I also agree that WJC is too big to fail albeit for dubious reasons. Another Old Year's week without the Spengler Cup sucks, for me it's been part of the holidays for decades and I'll miss it. Unfortunately, the WJC is not an adequate substitute for me and I'm not even going to start with the whining of our North American colleagues about the time difference

Dang.. was trying to find Spengler Cup games on TSN to pvr and etc while at work.. wow... guess we will have the WJHC to watch for now for the Christmas holidays.. wow.. I really hope the 2022 Spengler Cup will be back on and ready for sure..
This one should be canceled for good. There's already a bunch of no-importance tertiary tourneys like EHT etc. These only serve as team testing and building opportunities, while holding almost zero prestige. Spengler is even worse, believe it or not. Unfortunately all of these beer league minor tourneys dilute the international scene/experience.
This is such a bad take. First let me say I don't really like to watch the Spengler Cup. Its an exhibition tournament and the compete level isn't very high. Its basically the Swiss equivalent of the All Star Game if that makes sense. The tournament is however quite important for Swiss Hockey. It promotes the sport to a lot people who don't follow it otherwise, because the games are on free tv during the holidays. I know a few guys personally who got into hockey only because of the Spengler Cup. On top of that it is the only reason why the HC Davos can exist financially in 2021. To compare this tournament with the EHT doesn't do it justice.
