Frölunda also added Norlinder and Borgman...

Its gonna be interesting to see what lines they go with. I wanna see:

Friberg - Lundqvist - Mursak
Söderblom - Spacek - Lasch
Olsen - Sundström - Carlsson
Nässen - Lasu - Henriksson
Backman

Tömmernäs - Folin
Borgman - Elliott
Norlinder - Johansson
Olsson - Ekbom/Grönlund

Tomkins in net all games. Not sure what Frölunda sees in Rubin.

It has to be noted nobody plays their best lineup in the Spengler cup almost ever, at least 3-4 players are being rested.

Frölunda will do it. Its in their mentality to always play the best and give everything they have. Also its first time for them at Spengler Cup.

Is their mentality to be insane? For the team that makes the finals it's 4 games in 6 days. Nobody is putting their key players through that. That's why the teams are making all these additions, to begin with.

Confirmed, they have officially withdrawn. Canadian coach is already back home.
That's a shame.. hope it doesn't get cancelled altogether. This was a very Czech heavy tourney! Swedes with Spacek. I think Kovar or Stranksy on a Swiss squad. Sparta loaded with former and future national team members.

Ambri will be replaced by Slovan Bratislava, no replacement for Team Canda found yet, search ongoing

Looks like the plan is to announce a Canada replacement within the next few hours. I'm not sure how realistic that is but one can hope.
In case of five teams the tournament will revert to the old format where everyone plays everyone else once in a round robin and the top two teams of that stage advance to a final game.

Right, so the sixth, uh, 'team' will be a selection of players from Bern, Biel and SCL.

Well I suppose that's fair enough actually, realistically speaking the pool of teams that are available to play in Switzerland throughout the Christmas week at short notice must have been really shallow to begin with so this is probably as good a deal as they were ever going to get. I'm quite surprised they managed to get Slovan to come over to fill in the other spot.
