The good (for me):
- Byfield staying steady and playing a pro game. Didn't dominate, but if it's about utilizing the talent around him, did well.
- Spence was the best defenseman, in my opinion. My biggest gripe was his failure to clear in OT when on the PK. That could have turned ugly.
- Dudas did very well. Very great anticipation going to the open man just as he got out of the box. Got there just in time to neutralize the Coyotes player
- Ingham was great. The goal was arguably stoppable in my opinion, but haven't seen any replays. It wasn't a softy, but I'd expect goalies to stop that shot more often than not. Aside from that, dialed in.
- Chromiak playing on the PK shows versatility
- Turcotte was the best forward. Shootout attempt notwithstanding, high degree of skill with intensity dialed in at 10.
Not So Good (for me):
- Despite Durzi's skill level and improvement, his inconsistency is pretty apparent. Many unforced errors and effectively neutered the 4 min powerplay to start.
- While Madden had a beautiful shootout goal, he sometimes overestimates what he can accomplish, like trying to pass through 5 bodies. That confidence is commendable, and this is a good venue to practice that, but these are things he either won't be able to execute or even attempt at the next level.
- Pinelli... hopefully he can pot one tomorrow morning, so he can return to the OHL without having tonight's flub hang over his head.
