We can't though, just to add the Crunch guys puts us a couple million over the cap and we still need a backup goalie. We have no choice, we have to make a move. I get the feeling we're getting shot down by pretty much everyone. Zero leverage does that.

For all we know there could be info about an early season LTIR. He can keep kicking the can down the road. The reality is players get hurt all the time so we can play the LTIR game again.

Somebody tweet to him that NBC is gone. They don't have the broadcasting rights anymore.

Maybe, but when JBB was asked about injuries he said Hedman had the longest recovery time at only a few weeks. I don't think any of our RFA's are going anywhere but having cap room would have been nice so we could've signed a few today. Teams know we can't match very much and can potentially steal someone when FA opens tomorrow.

I'd love the good bits of Corey Perry in a Lightning jersey but then there's the part of Corey Perry that makes me want to puke.

Steve Downie all over again.

Toronto fans will have a melt down when all 67 of our superstars are paid less than double of their big 3 combined

Apparently Canes fans are cancelling their season tickets after they are signing Tony D and possibly Virtanen

DeAngelo is whatever to me, but signing Virtanen is just terrible. That guy has no place in the NHL.
The thing is, you could say this based on this skills alone. The fact that there are apparently multiple GM's out there who're interested in him despite him being a fringe NHL'er and having the charges on his head is... worrying to say the least.

It makes emotional and maybe even PR sense for everybody involved, but the problem is that it doesn't make a lot of hockey sense. Not for the Kracken anyway.

we’ll see what happens in free agency. But Johnson potted 29 goals last full regular season and the playoffs showed he has clearly has plenty of legs left. They need centers with top 6 ability badly and there isn’t much out there in free agency unless they wanna give Danault 6x6 (yuck). Of course, the surprising availability of Pius Suter would be a great fit.

(this is assuming Granlund returns to Nashville)

You hit the nail on the head. Why does a fringe player get a second chance, given the severity of his crimes? And why does he get it immediately, without any real punishment?

Smart move by Laine, wouldnt have even fetched more than 5.5m on the open market. probably will get moved at 50% retained at the deadline

The justice system is supposed to be the arbiter of that.

Carolina has had a weird summer. Their owner has a reputation for being..."thrifty", and these moves line up with that. Trading Ned over half a million dollars. Bringing in players with issues because they'll likely do it for bottom dollar, etc.

Let's hope somebody gives Danault 6x6. That would make TJ look like a pretty good deal at 3 x 5M.

Johnson, yes.

but if GMs are low balling us for a guy like Palat, or hell even wanting us to add to him.

then that GM is doing a huge disservice to his team. He’s easily worth at least a couple 2nds, or maybe even a 1st.
