Draft Lottery tomorrow ( JUNE 2 ) is at 7pm ET / 4pm PT on NHLN/NBCSN and Sportsnet/TVAS

Lotto gods smile on Kings 2 years in a row? Yes.

Left a bottle of rum out for Jobu and lit his cigar. In the name of Jobu may we succeed.

Not sure if this has not been discussed, but its the first I saw it today.

From NHL.com

"The Arizona Coyotes will be part of the drawings but forfeited their first-round pick because of violations of the NHL Combine Testing Policy during the 2019-20 season. The Coyotes also had to forfeit their second-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

If Arizona wins either lottery drawing, a redraw will be conducted."

So at best we lose, the 1 or 2 spot with AZ winning for a redraw and a second chance.

At worst, we win the 2nd, AZ wins the first and we redraw....

Am I reading this right?

If we win #2 and AZ wins #1, I think we keep #2 and #1 is redrawn. It doesn't specify either way but it doesn't make sense to do both draws again.

Edit: I read that the drawing for #1 is first, followed by the drawing for #2. So if #1 is AZ, it's redrawn. If someone else wins #1, it's set no matter if AZ wins #2 and that one is redrawn.

Kings:

Pick #1 - Power
Pick #2 - Hughes
Pick #8 - Lucius
Pick #9 - Lucius
Pick #10 - Lucius

The result I would want, at every possible outcome. Lucius played for Wrobo in 2019-20 and if Wrobo recos him, I am down. If he's not, then will be ok with whomever Yannetti wants.
Actually fine with whoever Yannetti wants., period. Just would think Wrobo knows Lucius more than anyone out there.

They draw for #1, then they draw for #2.

Its not like the Lafreniere draw where they put logos on the balls, that was a special thing because the first pick was going to one of the play-in losers who all had equal chance.

The way the draw normally works is they put numbers on balls and draw a series of numbers. Each team is given an amount of combinations equal to their lottery odds.

So if they draw the combination 11-6-9-2 they'll look on the list and see which team was assigned that combination, that team wins the first pick. If its AZ, they'll ignore it and draw again.

Then they'll draw for pick 2, if the combination belongs to the team that won the first pick or AZ, they'll ignore it and draw again.

So there's no worst or best case for us regarding AZ, they just don't matter. There's just a 3% chance that they waste Gary's time on each draw.

The draw is probably happening right now, and they'll do the card flip thing to tell us at 4 PM.

The 2026 Los Angeles Kings will be the first team in the history of the sport to dress 20 centers. They will have to draw straws to see who plays in goal.

It seemed like most are expecting Lucius to be a RW as a pro. The dearth of centers in the top 10 might mean somebody like Mason McTavish jumping a few spots higher than expected like Barrett Hayton in 2018.

At any rate, good luck gang!

I don’t care what position they play as long as staff thinks they’re the BPA. It’s also very easy to switch from center to wing.
