@WeThreeKings what do you think about Corson Ceulemans? He looks like a pretty good RD prospect
As I stated previously, unless we move up, Ceulemans will be long gone by the time we draft. He’s one of the few players I think we can reasonably draft without having to pay a king’s ransom for. I would readily expend one of our second round picks for the opportunity to draft Ceulemans.

Bad idea to piss off a prospect by picking him. It's also not worth the backlash.
Agreed. I don't how ignoring the fact that he explicitly asked not to be selected would be a good start for a lasting relationship. You can't build trust from the get go.

More importantly, he has things to atone for, introspection to do and things to work through. He must devote his time on becoming a better human being at this time, not a better hockey player.

Not to mention that I'm not sure how it would be viewed by the organization's current players, free agents and other organizations. It could damage relationships for a long time.

Nothing to gain in selecting the guy.

I don't think he's there for us.. I have him going to Winnipeg. I think he's a safe pick, you might get lucky and there's more offensive upside there but I think he will produce averagely for a 2nd pairing defenseman if he makes it to the NHL level. But these guys are worth their weight in the NHL, skate and defend well enough, move the puck well enough and you can be a valuable contributor.
Thanks. I’d love to move up and grab him. A big right shot D would go a long way with Weber done and Petry aging.

Montreal likes Samoskevich quite a bit and I trust his eye there.

I do like him a lot but it would be a gamble since he was injured this season and missed over 30% of the season. Then you have his numbers weren't that impressive, as just over a ppg but on the best team in the league that was just stacked. So the question for Timmins would be, was the injury impacting him on his return, as he started the year looking every bit as good as Coronato, when it was Farrell Samoskevich Coronato line. But then he got injured, comes back and the line gets broken up though he was back with Coronato while Farrell got Doan. Plus one thing I look at which maybe I shouldn't place as much value on for these incoming NCAA prospects is what school they are going to. Michigan, North Dakota, etc.. those schools that churn out NHLers, I love to see our prospects at these programs vs others like Koberstein going to the weak WCHA, or how we kept picking ECAC bound kids like Pauquet, Leblanc, Wyman, etc.. as I've just never been a big fan of the ECAC (though I do really like the coach at Cornell and think it's a really good program.

The best thing we can do is trade this pick for immediate help. Timmins first round picks, majority of the time, are horrible. About time we start trading them off. It is probably the one thing, at the top of my personal list, that i hate about Bergevin. Other than that, he has rounded out over the years and become a pretty solid GM.

If Timmins wants to try hitting a home run, do it with the 2nd round picks. (Personally i would trade most of our picks this year).

Even if Weber leaves, I still believe we have a window here. As long as Price can goal like that in the playoffs, we have to take a stab at it every year starting now. Petry, Gallagher are still here. Perry may come back. There are players we can trade for/sign that can replace Webers and Danaults on ice contributions. Add a couple extra solid ingredients and we can certainly have another go at the finals.

noobie nooberson here. what do you think of these names?

L'Heureux is an attitude problem in the room and has been suspended 4 times (he spit on a guy) - so you're looking at a Marchand type player, where there's so much baggage with the talent. I don't really want to add him to the room.

Dean is your swing, great skater, silky hands, good playmaker, needs to find a way to score goals but the tools and effort are there.

Stankoven is -tiny- but a pit bull with the talent to score. Do I want another diminutive scorer in our top 6, likely no but if he's there at 30...

Johnston is not on my list, he didn't play this year in the OHL and I didn't love his U-18 the same way others did.

Johnston, Stankoven, Dean then L'Heureux would be my order.

Johnston though is risky due to not playing much. L'Heureux has attitude problems.

Stankoven heads my list for name alone. whatever pro potential he has is just a bonus really

If the Habs go the Caufield way and pick the best player, there is no way you pick somebody else than Logan Stankhoven if he's still available.

Makes me think of Kane-Gagner-S. Kostitsyn in London, or Drouin, McKinnon, Ehlers in Halifax. All were putting up huge numbers. It turns out only Kane, McKinnon, and Ehlers were the real deal at the NHL level.

We'll see about Corronato, Smoskevich, and Farrell.

Does anyone has a list of possible picks from 15 to 45 that you would want habs to draft?

Svechkovs defensive game is supposed to be really good. Anyone concur? Just what I heard.

It's his bread and butter. He's frankly as close as the perfect 3rd line Centerman as you can find in this draft.

It sounded from Timmins' presser that they're finally ready to do that - except for a few picks here and there for need. But the emphasis may actually be BPA this draft.

That guy you mentioned, Logan Stankhoven, is all over the board in the various rankings:
Ranked #27 by CONSOLIDATED RANKING
Ranked #26 by ELITEPROSPECTS.COM
Ranked #19 by FCHOCKEY
Ranked #27 by TSN/BOB McKENZIE
Ranked #13 by MCKEEN'S HOCKEY
Ranked #46 by TSN/CRAIG BUTTON
Ranked #31 by NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING (NA Skaters)
Ranked #19 by RECRUIT SCOUTING
Ranked #23 by DOBBERPROSPECTS
Ranked #12 by DRAFT PROSPECTS HOCKEY
Ranked #28 by SMAHT SCOUTING
Ranked #26 by THE PUCK AUTHORITY

if this is true then we should pick him. I feel like we have enough size to insulate those two in our potential top 6/9. i'll look at some vids first but yeah take the home run swing. hopefully he can skate.
