It would be interesting to see but one of the things I've heard is that some teams rather just pick their player slightly higher rather than risk losing out by trading down. When the reward is a 3rd round pick or lower, is it really worth the risk?

It would depend on the team's situation. Where they are in their build, how many picks they have etc
or will teams pay to move up to get their guy rather than risk him with no consensus board?

That is posible. But the price could be higher in that scenario, like a 2nd rounder. Look at the 2018 draft for instance. Price is determined by who initiates the trade IMO

So who are some of the top prospects this year and what are their potential? Lol

Lotta Ds (Power, Clarke, Lambos, Hughes, Edvinson), one W (Guenther), couple of Cs (Berniers, Johnson, Räty).

As of potential, who tf knows. After the last three years, I can assume we shouldn't talk about potential anymore and such.

I haven't watched anything yet ... saw someone compare Kent Johnson to Nicklas Bäckström.

Man I've never even heard of the number 1 ranked guy.

Might be a crappy draft but holy shit this is a GENERATIONAL list of names

Chaz Lucius
Francesco Pinelli
Zachary L'Heuereux
Kent Johnson
Owen Power
Logan STANKOVEN

Stankoven is a very normal name in Dutch so I'd replace that with Cameron Whynot

Some others:
Vincent Iorio
Robert Orr (Who goes by Bobby, no joke)
Maximilian Glötzl
Riley Kidney
Shane LaChance

I think L'Heureux would be a great fit with what we're trying to build. Pastujov is a tempting prospect whose playmaking and confidence with the puck is certainly near the top of the draft. Sillinger would be the goal-focused prospect some fans have been clamoring for.

L'Heureux is interesting. He would definitely add some truculence to the team. Do any of these guys project to be centers at the NHL level?

My first choice would be Beniers, but I doubt we'll be in a position to draft him. Are there any other guys in this draft who project to be good 2 way centers?

There has been some talk about pushing the draft to 2022 and doing the 2021 and 2022 drafts a week apart. That would certainly be interesting. The trades would probably be crazy.

Year of the defenseman or year of the Wolverine?

Matthew Berniers at #16 I think is a little out there. Granted it is a very tough year to rank these kids. So much hockey was missed. So much likely will be missed going forward. Would be amazing if the Rangers were in range to draft him this season. Some real nice chemistry with Berard already. Berniers is averaging .928 PPG as a Freshman.

Kent Johnson is leading the Wolverines in scoring as a Freshman. He's averaging 1.125 PPG as Freshman. Fun player. I love the highlight below. Look Familiar? Very similar to the recent Kravtsov goal.

I think its highly likely to see 3 Michigan Players draft in the top 10.

Power
Berniers
Johnson

I’m kinda pissed that it’s looking like I’ll need to be invested in this draft this year. I was looking forward to not caring about it.

I know you posted this when the Rangers were probably 1-4-1, but right now it's looking like they're in the mix at least for that 4th playoff spot.

I'm driving the Beniers Bandwagon.

The WJC made me pot committed to get him in Manhattan.

Even if I'm out of range, I would look at avenues to trade up for him.

I prefer Johnson over Beniers but wouldn't be upset with the latter.

I think Eklund is a great option as well.

Beniers definitely projects as a center.

L’Heureux looks like a wing to me. I think that’s where some of his strengths (nose for the net, ability to get his shot off in high percentage areas, low center of gravity) work best.

L'Heureux is a great get after the top ten. Q players I like are mostly Centers like Bolduc, Roy, Bourgault and Zach Dean. Dean has grown on me. Two way Center with offensive instincts and some bite to his game.

I used to play against a whole family of L’Heureux’s in Hackensack, NJ. They owned a real estate company and the whole family was on the hockey team (multi generational). One of the younger guys spent some time in the Q I believe.

Absolutely hated playing against them. They were one of those beer league teams that had played together forever and were way better than the sun of their parts. Like, they had a guy in his 60s who could hang in a pretty high level (beer) league because their team play was so cohesive.

Long story short. No L’Heureux’s on my Rangers please.
