LOB one of the better passers on the team? Holy cow. He’s awful. Has no business being in this lineup.

He has no business being in the lineup? He had two assists the other game. He's drawn multiple penalties through hard work. He's made some really good passes for a 4th liner that could have setup more goals.

Apart from Landy, he's the only guy on the team that will actually hit with force and fight someone.

He's solid defensively and he skates well for a guy his size. I don't know why people think he doesn't skate well. He was flying last game. Most of the penalties called against him have been BS too.

What the hell are guys like Kaut, Sherwood, Tynan, Dries, Henry, and Megna doing that he hasn't done???? LOB has outscored all of them this year, and unlike LOB they've all been invisible in their games lately.

LOB is a terrible skater. Guy should have had a clear breakaway last game but got caught by someone standing still when LOB got the puck. In what universe was he flying last game? He was useless. The Avs didnt even register a shot attempt with him on the ice.

All of his hits are late because he’s never to the puck on time. What energy is he providing? Isn't the purpose of him to spark the team against bigger teams when they don’t have it going? Where was that the last few games?

His penalties have been legit. You don’t get a clearer hook than the one he took last game.

Sherwood has absolutely outplayed him. Henry hasn’t played a game, neither has Tynan, so not sure why you’re listing them. The other guys not playing well doesn’t suddenly mean LOB is any good.

Yeah that breakaway was hilarious. Any other forward would have had a clear breakaway, but he looked like he was skating in wet concrete which let Pietrangelo catch up.

LOB is the guy you bring from the AHL to take a run at the other team in retaliation for a cheap shot against your team. You don’t mind if he gets suspended for 20 games. That’s it.
And you definetly dont need him being an NHL regular. A few games here and there when your teams been getting smashed and thats it.

So you're saying he's an above average NHL skater, because he's an average size NHL player.

Got caught standing still on the breakaway? Nemeth sent him a pass behind him that he had to one touch the puck ahead behind his back without breaking too much stride, and he still beat and outmuscled a very fast Pietrangelo to the front of the net, for what would have been a highlight reel goal if not for a great poke check from Fleury.

The penalty last game was legit, but many of the calls made on him this year have not been. Refs have a completely different standard for AHL callups and "tough guys" than they do everyone else. They let other players get away with penalties all the time, but they can't wait to call penalties on guys like LOB, because they think it's expected.

It's completely false that all of his hits are late, he hits just fine, and hasn't been called for any late hits. The refs wouldn't cut him any slack on this.

He's drawn three penalties himself through hard work and the Avs have scored two power play goals as a result.

So Tynan hasn't played this year, big deal. LOB has two more points in the NHL than Tynan in four less games, even though Tynan is an AHL superstar who's more skilled. Why do you think that is? It's because LOB can think the game in the NHL and Tynan can't.

And he's responsible defensively. He always knows when to be the third man high, he covers for pinching D men very well, he covers for his centerman well, he back checks hard, and Bednar recognizes this because he puts him and the 4th line out there for D zone face-offs, and for the second to last shifts of many periods. He would never do this if he was a terrible skater.

Again what has Sherwood done that LOB hasn't? He's got 0 goals and less assists than LOB. Sherwood has averaged 2:20 more minutes per game than LOB, but the only time I've really noticed him this season is when he gave the Blues a late bump at the end of last game that pissed them off.

LOB has absolutely played better and more consistent than all the other depth guys except LOC this year, so I don't know what standard people are evaluating him on. He's not as good as the top six or top 9 guys? Ok but that doesn't mean he sucks. He's a 4th line depth guy averaging 6:34 a game and he's been better than his competition so far in that role.

No he is not average sized. LOB is listed at 215 lbs with the Eagles and 213 in the NHL, both of which seem light to me.

Mikko and Gabe are the biggest players on the Avs, also listed at 215.

In fact, he's basically the same 6'1" 215 lbs that Landeskog is listed at. You think he's average sized?
