Top3 picks in 2023 years draft are going to be impact players all of them. Especially Bedard and Dvorsky.
I actually have Bedard and Dvorsky before Michkov right now.
Dvorsky is very well rounded, skilled and has size.
Michkov is great and all, but I do think he plays for himself at times and I´m not as sure that his game will translate as good against pros. But then again, take this with a pinch of salt because he's hella talented and there is a lot of time for things to change.

Lol, you just haven't watched Michkov enough then. He is a very good playmaker and team player, it's just he's a generational goal scorer.

He´s really good. But it will be difficult for the franchises to pick, that's my guess. Michkov can (if everything goes right) grow to become a new Ovechkin even if they are different and I believe Ovechkin was something else.
Dvorsky could end up as a Malkin or Kopitar or something, he's that talented.
Then you have Bedard, the new Crosby.

The thing with Dvorsky is that he impressed a lot against team Sweden and he is born in June 2005. Don't sleep on this kid, he's really special.
As a flyers fan I would choose Dvorsky over Michkov because he could feed Tuomaala in the future.

Edit: God damn, 11 points In 3 games as a center and underaged? 7 goals! Slovakia played against both US and Sweden as well. Dvorsky... He's the real deal!

Actually like I said above, I think Sweden out of the remaining 3 has best chance of knocking off russians. Great 2 way first line plus bonafide top pairing defenseman. Plus your goalie is very good as well
Making way too many mistakes and too out of sync to win against that Russia rn.

This years draft was very weak when it comes to elite talent, at least compared to these two following years with Wright, Lambert, Kemell, Michkov, Dvorsky, Bedard, Nemec, Salomonsson, Slafkovsky etc.

All drafts look great before players start hitting the wall against older, better competition. Some of the players you mentioned will drop off a lot.

Yes, I’m Slovak and I will say that Russians are still better there, they have the depth we don’t. Although Michkov and Dvorsky are close, we don’t have the Russian depth on defense that you guys do. Still nice that slovaks are getting some recognition now.

Happy you guys are back on the hockey map, I wasn't trying to be detrimental by any means.

Can someone please tell me if the Group A games (Czech’s, Finn’s, Russians, Swiss) games are available on replay? If so, how would I find these games? I don’t speak Czech and have trouble navigating the website.

I wouldn’t rule out that there are better players in 2023 than Bedard and Michkov. Most of these guys haven’t even played junior yet. However, given what we know is the usual caliber of top players, I wouldn’t expect it, Dvorsky or someone else.

As to who might go the highest in the draft, that’s even harder to predict, but that also gives more room for other outcomes that aren’t Bedard and Michkov 1-2 in some order.

They are available here: Hlinka Gretzky Cup » Games

You can find the videos by clicking on the little TV icon.

You'll need a Czech IP address (which you can get with a VPN) to watch them though. I was just able to start watching the Russia / Finland game from Monday.

I did not think that the progress of the Slovak players, foreseen for a few years would feel so much.

A month ago I had to fight with a Swedish fan to make him admit that Dvorsky was a top 10 prospect and was the best forward born in 2005 playing in Sweden. At least I wouldn't have to waste my time on this anymore.

Regarding the 2023 draft, Dvorsky is becoming the 3rd headliner. But that does not mean that he challenges the hegony of Bedard and Michkov. For that, it would take a season at 2 points per game in U20 Sweden and a professional debut from 2021-2022. I doubt Dvorsky will.

Slovakia was counter attacking in the second period and Swedish goalie removed his mask even though it wasn’t dislodged, breaking up a odd man rush for Slovakia. Let’s call it even ;)
I'm not compairing chanses, i'm wondering if IIHF rules are different from NHL rules, it's a shame we didn't get to see an overtime to a great game.

My Top 10 rankings after 2 games of Slovakia shaped up like this:

1. Nemec
2. Slafkovsky
3. Mesar
4. Elias
5. Wright
6. Lambert
7. Miroshnichenko
8. Geekie
9. Yurov
10. Jiricek

Please, bear in mind, that this can change.

So one guy posts a strictly Finland list then you post some kind of ass bakwards overall list with 3 Slovaks at the top then Wright 5th?

WTF?

and I'm not being disrespectful here just complete bewilderment.
