Positive for the Giants is they should have two top 10 picks, maybe one in the top 5, just get a competent GM to make the picks.

Negative it seems like Garrett is just going to waste your first round picks rookie year, but he will get another shot when you guys get a competent OC

Toney's going to get what he wants if Shepherd and Slayton are out for any decent period of time.

Hilarious part for the Giants is that this opening stretch was the "easy" part of their schedule and they walked away with an 0-3 record.

Giants are going 4-13 this year. And that's optimistic. They're built like the early 2000s Rangers.

Even if no one gets hurt today, they still find a way to lose.

I really don’t know. I unfollowed all the Jets reporters on Twitter years ago for my mental health. Lol

Coach has covered for Mims saying they want him to learn all the receiver positions because he is stuck behind Davis. Could be a cover for something else.

Is there something going on with Mims behind the scenes or something? It's kinda nuts that he's getting scratched in deference to these other guys.

Saleh keeps talking about how Mims doesn't know how to play all three WR positions and can't play special teams. Barely played any snaps in Week 1 vs CAR and that was with Cole and Crowder out (and a game where they were behind and needed to throw to come back). Early Sunday reports were talking about how teams have approached them about a trade for Mims, but NYJ have declined.

This was a theme over OTAs and TC. Lots of reports of Mims playing on the 2nd team.

FWIW Cimini was speculating yesterday that the coaching staff wants to see a greater sense of urgency from Mims. The coaches keep talking each week about how Mims has great weeks of practice, but yet he doesn't break the starting lineup on Sundays. Had 5 WRs active yesterday: Davis, Moore, Berrios, Smith, and Cole. Berrios and Smith have ST value.

The NYJ beat writer for the Athletic did note he worked in with the 1st team offense this past week in practice.

Saleh's comment on Mims after Week 2 vs NE: "When you're looking at your 4th or 5th receivers, you've got to be reliable in regard to multiple positions and you've got to be able to play special teams."

It's the standard head coach galaxy brain where they think they are smarter than everyone else or wildly overrate the value of the replaceable special teams players. Plus the usual thing where if a player "doesn't fit the coach's system" all these coaches are too bad to actually adapt their system to fit the personnel so they just jettison the player to get guys who "fit."

All in all, last two weeks, they've faced two of the best defensive minds in football. Belichick and Fangio. Mile High is a tough place to play. Belichick is Belichick.

CAR has invested a ton of picks the last few years in the defense. Aaron Rodgers late last year when GB played CAR called some of CAR's defensive concepts "strange." Held him to 143 yards. That was before adding Horn in the 1st.

Inexperienced QB. New offensive scheme. New offense. Questions along the OL. Losing Becton. Going on the road is hard enough on offensive lines and offenses. Life is tough on NFL rookies.

I'm just mostly pissed that I had Sutton in a 7 player TD parlay and they had the DPI in the end zone on him in the 1st half and then he got tackled at like the 1 yard line in the 4th. Would've hit nicely if they connected.

Salah has the final say obviously but this is clearly an OC thing with Mims. It’s about scheme and fit. 3 games in this kid LaFleur looks extremely overmatched to me. This is his first OC role and we’re seeing the growing pains.

no I’m not saying fire him. I’m saying I’m not going to overreact about players bc there are far more issues at play here.

Definitely not the easiest stretch to start a season for a rookie QB. Denver also has one of the best secondaries around. Carolina is their pass rush. NE has all the talent in the world. They really should have given up 14 to New Orleans. That TD that Callaway pulled down was pure luck. Jones threw a pick 6 in there as well. Even with that, Winston in that offense should be okay to put up points, but they didn't.

Titans and Falcons up next. Neither have a defense worth talking about. Titans have more talent, but that defense has not been good. Hopefully they can get some momentum going. Early bye week is good too. Let Wilson digest the first 5 weeks of play and learn. Watch some games on Sunday of that week and see what other teams are doing. It could be helpful.

Here we are & the calendar still shows September, yet the NFL season for both NYC teams is over. How many years in the past decade does this make where neither team is playing a meaningful game when Halloween rolls around?

Like wtf is this play?

I feel like the Jets could bring in Belichick and Brady and still go 1-15. The Johnsons need to sell the team.

lol I have no idea. A lot of ex-players/analysts have been saying how the game plans and play calling is doing Wilson no favors. I definitely saw a lot of that this weekend.

but even on the drive they had the FG called off for a delay of game. He was good and they called good plays for him. Got him going. But that mistake seemed to suck the wind out of them.

Blake Martinez tore his ACL.

it’s nuts how quickly this season went up in smoke haha.
LMAO.

Season's over. Shepherd and Slayton out significant time too. And it's likely to be yet another year that 9-8 will win this shitty division.

Le sigh. At least the draft is looking to be top heavy in positions of need for the Giants.

Since 2017, the Giants record for the months of Sept and Oct is 5-28
