Perhaps, but how long is Houston ownership ok with paying him to sit on the bench and do nothing?
Watson has 3+ years left on his contract - has no leverage. If he's exonerated he's going to play or be traded for close to his asking price. I mean, the trade offer you gave isn't even the amount the Rams had to give up to get Stafford, who's 8 years older.

Carolina isn't that good let's be honest. Jets played about how I expected which was keep it close and ultimately lose.

I predicted Darnold would throw for 300+ with 3 tuddies....2 of them to Robbie which all came close to happening.

Wilson looked poised and if yesterday is any indicator of how it's going to be with him, with even a tad better protection from the O-line which was abominable at best, Zach has the look of a QB who will make us all very proud. I knew he had a gun for an arm but the zip on his ball really did remind me of Maholmes. His mobility was impressive too. He's got some things to clean up but I'm pretty amped up that we have him.

Defense looked pretty decent despite us having no secondary. When we face better QB's than Darnol which we will, we are going to get absolutely torched. The offense tho looks like it will keep us in games if the 2nd half is any indicator. I got a feeling we are going to be losing alot of 31-24....28-24 type games this season which frankly I'll take after what we witnessed the past 5-6 years since that flukish 2015 season when the Jets were surprisingly dangerous under Fitzy.

All in all not to upset and feel cautiously optimistic. We even have the depth to cover for a Becton injury this year which looks like it's not as serious as it originally looked like.

I, too, was satisfied with Zach's performance. What really impressed me was his accuracy.

Happy with Wilson's game overall. The start looked like it was too fast for him. The game slowed a little for him after half. That's the type of progression a rookie needs to make.

Let's not understate the Panthers DL. Burns, Reddick, Gross-Matos, and Derrick Brown. That's a lot of beef and skill on the line. It's potentially a top 5 DL in the league, just nobody knows since it is the Panthers. People will find out this season.

The defense was actually not as bad as expected. The amount of rookies and youth out there and only gave up 19. I'll take that and run with it. Michael Carter II looked good out there.

Good game to learn from on all levels. Coaching has to learn and get better too. Looked overmatched, but actually made half time adjustments! I didn't know you could do that.

Yeah in general I was happy to see how it all went down.

Had Darnold not lost a fumble and maybe hit some throws in the red zone, they could have been buried early. Fortunately that didn't happen and it afforded them the opportunity to play in a competitive environment in the second half.

Yes. He stinks. Didn't like the pick at the time, wanted to trade down. Wanted Wirfs or Becton.

How can you write off a guy after one season unless you're so in love with your scouting skills? From all accounts he played well yesterday.

I just saw 4-6 weeks for him.

That's a freak thing but you gotta start wondering about the dude's long term viability in the league. It's been one thing after another for him.

my first thought was 4+ weeks staying off his feet cannot be good for this guys body

I've said it before and I'll say it again....he's simply too damn big!. I get that there are rare OT's who are huge who don't have issues staying on the field but Becton is bigger than even them. 365 lbs is alot of weight to be carrying around and when your that big and you have knee or foot issues, they take a long time to heal as there is so much stress being put on them.

He needs to get down to 330 or so pounds, keep lifting the weights and he'll be even quicker and just as strong and more importantly he'll have a better chance of staying healthy. Unfortunately this looks like a lost year for him. We now need to hope that Moses can come in and do an adequate job or maybe put AVT at left tackle a position he played at USC.

Maybe I'm missing something but 4+ weeks of a 365 pound man off his feet seems like it would be a great thing for his body....less wear and tear.

That's of course unless when he gets up on his feet and he's heading to the local Chinese buffet line...lol

If he uses that 4-6 weeks to trim down a little.
This is the injury that tells if hes a pro or not.

Some great first week fantasy matchups in our league. @nyr2k2 and @redwhiteandblue ended up being separated by 1.7 points. @Maximus and I are also going to be agonizingly close.
I'm going to be the guy that wins 9 or 10 games while scoring the fourth-fewest points in the league who gets curb stomped in the first round of the playoffs.

The Jets may be incompetent and poorly run, but they're also extremely unlucky. IDK how they can overcome both factors. I feel like they can finally turn it around on the mgmt front, and put together a sick team, all their star will just get injured before week 2 anyway.
