This is exactly how I feel about Vatrano.

It's not "hate" or "cutting him up." It's just stating what I see as fact. The guy is often a ghost and is going to get a raise soon.

Our former GM would have seen this as an opportunity to pay up before the time came, blocking a younger player. Our new GM will get someone better or let a young guy step into a role.
This is where I'm confused. Saying he's not a part of the longterm plan is fine (in fact I would agree). But you said you would attach a 3rd to him in exchange for a 6th. That's literally a Tallon expansion draft move. Actually, Vatrano had a better year than Smith in 2017.

If you're trading a guy who scored 20+ goals (over an 82 game pace) for 3 straight years and is making next to no money at 2.5 million, the return better be multiple mid round picks or one of the dmen they take.

I didn't say what I wanted to do, but what we may/could do. It's my fault if I didn't make that clear.

My quote -
"This doesn't appear to be the case. Maybe we give Vatrano and a 3rd for a 6th or something? IDK. Weird speculation by Seravalli now that I listened to the clip."

I agree we should get something back for Vatrano, and should not have to pay to move him. But we also didn't need to pay to move Smith and March, and we paid to move both in an expansion draft. We even attached a pick to them.

I trust Zito a hell of a lot more than Tallon, but I do not think Vatrano returns Dunn or Bean.

I'm happy people are optimistic about our GM making moves/the return we may get, but I'm still damaged goods after the last expansion draft.

I am happy Vatrano being moved is being explored, tho. That is very clear already. But we should not be paying to move him.

Not necessarily.

Assume a combined 20 million between Eichel and Barkov. That would put the Panthers at 67 million in cap used. Leaving roughly 13.8 million to fill the rest of the roster.

They'd need to sign 2 d-men
and 6 forwards. (or if you jettison Hornqvist, it creates another 5.5 million in space)

It wouldn't be easy, but it is absolutely doable. Clearing Hornqvist's deal would be an absolute must though.

You’re forgetting Bennett’s new deal too…

Trading Hornqvist or having 14M to sign 8 players isn’t cap-hell… Yeah okay lol

Is it doable ? Absolutely ! Easy ? Nope.

Eichel is a dumb and selfish hockey player, that will need surgery to repair a herniated disk… Don’t understand some of the love around here to get our hands on that guy !

Having TWO top-10 center isn’t my way of winning a Cup… But hey, others can see it differently ! ;)

I was assuming Bennett would not stay with the org if eichel was brought in.

I'm always on team chaos so I would love to see Price get taken but I just don't get the logic from the Krak to do that. Bishop provides veteran depth at a fraction of the cost and they could take a flier on Vanecek and Kahkonen

Kraken sign Larsson. 4 years @ 4mil

Wouldn't have mind bringing him in if we needed another RD, but 4 years is more than I would give.

It could just as well be a 3-way trade.

Seattle gets Vatrano
Team X gets player Y Seattle picked
Florida gets team X's player Z or pick/prospect

GM's are notoriously stubborn for not trading within the division, this could be one of those cases.

Lots of spoilers on Twitter, in case anyone is waiting for the draft to see things.

I guess you wouldn't be here if you were avoiding spoilers, but still - fair warning.
