WJC: 2021 Canada Roster Talk Part 2

How did Rees or Beckman not make the team? If health related understandable.

Rees just had a solid camp I believe. Healthy and good to go?

Beckman just led a more than exceptional whl league in points as of recent.

LALALALALALA USA HISTORICALLY DOMINATED CANADA WHITE AT THE U17S AND IS THE FAVORITE LALALALALA.

Really though it's a pretty small pool beating that drum, and the Canadian counterparts are almost certainly more annoying.

Beckman didn't look good in the camp and has limited Hockey Canada experience. Rees looked good and most people here were surprised when he was cut.

Beckman didn't look better than anyone else who made it. He's a scorer who didn't score. I wish he looked better, as he's my team's prospect, but he didn't. Rees is a different story. in the two scrimmages I saw, he looked fast, smart, gritty, and was able to get on the scoresheet. Still, I didn't see the workouts and last two scrimmages, and how he fit into the team overall. Maybe he farts at breakfast, or doesn't flush the toilet in the dressing room after he uses it?

We'll hang on every positive case, every piece of news, then the tournament happens and we lose in the quarters.

Based on what? He has more points in the 4 scrimmages than anyone not named Dach and Tomasino (tied with Cozens). Played very well the two games we did see, continued to put up points the two we couldn't and clearly has chemistry with Dach.

If it's not working out it's an easy switch to reunite the big line and go back to:

McMichael- Cozens- Dach
Perfetti - Zary - Tomasino

I have to think that Mercer has some sort of minor injury at the moment. It's very surprising that he's not on a line. Returning players pretty much always get the benefit of the doubt and he looked good in the first two practice games.

Who really cares about scrimmage points coming out of a quarantine? If Dach himself isn’t going to center the top line, then it has to be one of McMichael or Cozens, both of whom are better than Zary.

If its not clicking they can change it.. If it does click .. they will score a lot of goals

Its pretty neat that a lot of the pre 2019 draft there was a lot of discussion on Dach vs Cozens.. now their linemates

I really like Zary, but my preference is for us to keep that three headed monster of a line together. People are always looking to balance out the lines, but there is enough depth on this forward unit that it’s really not necessary to do that. The other lines will score nicely without the help, and if we learned anything from watching that Forsberg highlight pack earlier it’s that if a line is good enough, they just might be unstoppable no matter whom the opposition is trying to match with.
