So he’s off to a solid start. Best of luck to him.
He has 2 goals in 6 games. 0 assists. Im sure it's a big adjustment going from NCAA to the AHL but I would have to think at best he can be a bottom 6 guy in the NHL more so a 4th liner. He's listed as 6 foot 207 lbs so he seems like he can be built for a checking role. I was reading the Hockey News magazine and they had a list of the top 10 undrafted college players. Halonen happened to be on it too so I like the signing but I don't know too much about him yet.

He seems to be getting better every game. In the first games he looked a bit tentative, but he is getting more involved and stronger near the boards. But the sample size is much too small to say anything about what he could or could not do in the future.

OK takes down a Crunch and Koepke doesn't like it and goes at OK and OK handles himself more than adequately.

Crunch get the instigator.

Another PP for the Comets . The previous ones have been anemic.

Comets get called and on ta delay and a breakaway goal is scored by Richard.

Sloppy! Soppy! Scmid! PP

Richard attacks Schmid. Foote comes to his rescue.
Schmid moved to get involved and then was screened off.

Fortier gets the original and when he was ushered to the box Richard went after Schmid.
This sounds nuts btw.

Reilly Walsh with 22 shots on goal the last 5 games, from the numbers it looks like he's taking another step, but hard to tell from just those - have you people who watch Utica noticed him more involved?
He played well and was very involved in the OT loss against Bellville a couple weeks ago but that was the only game I was able to catch recently

Last night was the day of the D.
First 3 goals were scored by D-men.
The goals scored by forwards goals were assisted only by D-men.
Of the 12 accumulated points last night 7 came from the back end.

Hotz can't be ignored as he assited on the 1st 2 goals.

Tonight at 7 pm
Belleville Senators @ Utica Comets

Before last night's games the only North Division team with a sub .500 record besides the Comets were the last place Cleveland Monsters.

1 Utica - 4-5-1-0 (0-3-1 in the last 4)

2 Laval - 6-2-1
3 Syracuse - 7-2-1-0
4 Toronto - 6-4-0-0
5 Rochester - 4-3-2-1
6 Belleville - 5-4-1
7 Cleveland - 2-7-0-1 Tonight the Comets play a Beleville team that handed them 2 of those losses in the 0-3-1-0 string, once in Utica and and 2 nights later in Belleville before a loss the next night in Laval where they blew a 3-0 lead in a 5-3 loss.

Hopefully last night is the sign of a much needed turnaround.
The other Division leaders are obviously tuning up for the playoffs and hoping to come in on a high. Here;s there last 10 before last night:

Pacific
#1 OA - Stockton 8-1-0-1
Central -
#2 OA - Chicago 7-3-0-0
Atlantic -
#4 OA - Charlotte 8-1-1-0
These guys might be upset to get a bye causing them to have to slow down!

Incidentally, Chicago won last night while both Stockton and Charlotte lost so they are not unbeatable.

Belleville hits the post after Wotherspoon muffed picking up the loose puck. It was latched onto and centered back into the high slot to a wide open Sen.

Comets once again continue to leave the points wide open and thus can't clear the zone.

Comets called on a hook with 6:41 to go, Holttz. A good penalty as he stopped a guy in clean from shooting.

Great save by Mitens on the PP.

G------O------A-----.--L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Foote gets the draw and walks the blueline and wrists it back across the net to the top corner from the insignia just inside the center of the Blueline.

:27 to go in the period and the Sens miss another glorious opportunity with a shot that misses the net.

Another big stop by Mitens after another Sen is allowed to walk right in off the boards and gets a clean shot kicked out.

Comets have been unable to clear the zone since the goal.

OK rips a bomb over the net. Delayed penalty coming.

1:57 to go and the Comets go to the PP.

You'd think a team that prides itself on skating would excel 4 on 4, but the Comets simply haven't looked good all year in that situation. They pay like they are killing a penalty.
