I'm really not a fan of Domi. He sort of seems like Ritchie in that he doesn't play tough with any consistency, but then snaps and takes a stupid penalty. I just really don't get any sense of being a team first kind of guy, strikes me as more of the type of guy who can produce on bad teams but isn't someone you win with. There might be something to be said for the fact he's played on four teams in five years despite decent production.
Yeah I don't think I'd want anything to do with Domi. On top of everything else he's not a finisher and isn't really responsible defensively, he's kind of nothing what we need.

Oh, Zellweger is definitely gonna be hit in the NHL. I can see him being a 3rd pairing defenseman, but on the #1PP unit as well as be a part of the OT 3v3 play.

I didn't include Zell b/c I was only focused on 2023-24 NHL season. We also have RHD 6'3 Moore developing in college as well.
moore is gonna be a #2-3 d man. lots of people sleeping on him and has crazy potential

So, assume we don't win the lottery. How do we feel about moving our pick for a young top end forward rather than use the pick and use the Boston pick to draft?

If it can get us a top end FW absolutely!

Zadorov would be one of my targets, he's a big physical dman who would be a nice compliment to Drysdale

Ryan Reeves is also a UFA, I know hes polarizing and is 35 but i would overpay to have him on our roster we've got to get some bullies on this team, you can't just build a roster completely devoid of toughness and physicality

Depends on the player of course, but I would certainly be interested. That player better be good tho.

I would take Des any day over Reeves.

Des was loved in the Locker room and can actually play hockey.

For me that pick is really only in play for a guy like Laine or Tkachuk. Or at least that tier of player.
O yeah. Doubt they are available tho. But if it came to it...
Still not sure if Laine would be a Verbeek kind of guy tho.

But what's up with PLD, anyone knows? I think he was rumored at some point, and if he would become available... would like him in a Ducks jersey.

I just want a Top 6 forward to replace Rakell and a Top 4D to replace Manson. Hopefully Verbeek has that still in mind since Dadonov fell through. There will be good players available who are cap casualties and Verbeek has to spend like 20 million just to hit the floor. Pending RFA's are not gonna fill that up. lol.

Can worry about Lindholm‘s replacement later either through trade or the draft. A Top 10 pick, will get someone NHL ready within a year or two. The key is to find the most ideal partner for Drysdale who is starting to look legit out there. I expect some bumps since he is only 19yo..... well 20 now. Still young. But the signs of his potential are really starting to show.

Every Flames game I watch, Zadorov is by far the biggest liability on their team. He makes Gudbranson look like a stud with the puck by comparison.

Yeah I was thinking about him a few months ago due to his physical presence but then I watched several of their games. He reminds me of Bieksa. I’d steer clear of him as well.

Rather get Guds back he was good with Fowler and will give some stability to the Top 4. Can then always run Vaak with Drysdale on a 2nd pairing with sheltered mins. If Fowler has a physical partner he would be fine on the Top pairing for now.

This is how I see it though I think we need another PK specialist on the back end on top of Guds.

I have a feeling we will be a cap floor team and be a lottery team next year hoping for a top 3 pick.

I think the following year we will be good offensively but our defense will take years to fix. Letting lindholm go prevents us from competing in the next 3 years unless he conjures up a top 2 defensive defenseman that isn’t in the system yet.

20 mil to the floor with only 11 players signed. It shouldn't be hard to get to the floor with a top 4 dmen signing and a top 6 winger signing.

My wishlist:
Manson 4x4
Gudbranson 2x2.5 (he is quietly having the best season of his career offensively)
Deslauriers 2x1.5

Good. If there is a time to be bad it is next season.

I said before would like Verbeek to add a proven Top 6 Forward , and a proven Top 4D, Gudbrandson would be good to bring back to play with Fowler, Manson I think that ship has sailed unfortunately.

IDK why it would be shipped with Manson.

He obviously didn't want to leave and I'm sure he would want to come back. Unless Verbeek just really hates Manson idk why it wouldn't be done.

My thoughts are very similar. They need two top 6 forwards (one trade and one UFA), one top 4 RHD for Fowler, maybe another depth defenseman, and they should take on dead salary for cap strapped teams. Calgary comes to mind as they need to clear lots of cap. Could get another solid pick/prospect.
