It's hard to say "forget about the goal" but, forgetting the goal, Lemieux wasn't playing well. They all count but he didn't snipe that thing either: looks like he almost fell trying to make the shot and it went in off of Nurse's stick.

I say this as a Lemieux supporter and someone that feels his physical presence is necessary in the playoffs.

If you're spending 5 minutes doing little on the powerplay, put someone else out there who can do more.
I'm fully onboard with the PP being shuffled. The first unit outplayed the second dramatically in game one, though. That's where Arvidsson is missed the most. Byfield and Kaliyev were awful on the PP in particular. Kopi isn't doing much on the PP, but others who got the opportunity did even worse.

I have a second guy crash the front more often, but that's just me.

What game were you watching? The first unit outplayed nobody. The second unit gets on the ice for the the last 30 second scraps and has to shuffle around to even get one rush after the energy has already been sucked out.

Kopi led the entire team not just fwds with 25:41 TOI .. should be better management of his time going forward. A simple way to do that is cycle in Lizotte as the 2nd primary PK center along w Danault.. Kopi a step slow anyway covering their leading scorers .. lizotte tho small could at least keep up.
I wouldn't give Kopitar's PP unit the first shot at it tonight either. He takes a break on the PP, because he is gassed.

Get the guys on the 2nd PP unit more time by giving them the first 90 seconds on the PP.

Bulletin board material right here thanks to this clown. I've seen people harp more on the kings being the easiest team in the playoffs than the Stars.

Biznasty can suck a dick. He’s got an axe to grind against the Kings for some reason. I wouldn’t even take his opinion with a grain of salt because a grain of salt has more value than his opinion on the Kings. He talks shit about the Kings nonstop.

Yeah Lemieux is still in a bad way since his return from injury. That being said his goal was pretty symbolic of what we need to do to smith. You don't even have to snipe him, just get in there and get ugly.

Christ, this again?

Look at when the 2nd PP got on--twice they got on on the fly after the 1st PP turned the puck over and were fighting back from their end, and the other times they simply got the last 20-30 seconds of the PP.

It's the equivalent of MTL burying Danault with 70%+ dzone starts and wondering where his goal scoring is.

This forum LOVES blaming everyone but the culprits, give me a f***ing break. Kopitar was stuck on the baseline for 5 minutes. Pure dogshit deployment.

Lemieux is my fav King, but I do agree he has not been the same since he came back from injury.

Kings really do need a big D - they better address in the off-season.

Colorado can afford to not dress MacDermid because they have Manson. Same with the Blues - they have Bortuzzo back there. Edler is the biggest Kings D and he's not that physical. I would say Roy is next.

As long as Quick stays great and Smith stays shaky, I like the Kings chances to win.

3 of the goals Smith gave up last game were sloppy. He’s a career .5 bad goal per game tender. If the Kings get 3 goals, panic time in Edmonton.

When Arvidsson first left practice they said it was a personal matter. Now they're saying it's an injury?

Seems obvious to me also. Smith can't stand a Kings jersey up in his kitchen, probably gives him big time PTSD.

It's a mystery wrapped in an inigma nestled in a whole box of rumors

agreed with others the Oils are going to come out hard....Kings can withstand or maybe even get a lucky break early will be huge.

As for Lemieux- would be awesome to see him pull a Chris Kontos and score a bunch of sloppy goals. His Dad was a playoff god and we can only hope the apple doesnt fall too far from the tree.

I think it's only a matter of time before CoKane has a major impact on this series, equally possible negative or positive.
I will always have a small soft spot for Kane since he one punched Matt Cooke as a rookie. One of the coolest things i ever saw. Otherwise tho, he seems to be garbage - and i do hate him since he cheap shotted Lemieux earlier in the year. We need Lemieux to bring that back out of him.

I noticed that too.. so which is it? My guess is its an injury they were hoping was nothing so they didnt even want to let on he may be hurt and made up the bs

The Edmonton board is on suicide watch already, it was actually a little sad tbh I didn't get much past the second page. Many of their most prominent posters have no faith in that team. I thought it was bad here, wow.

Fortunately, it doesn't matter what any of us think, the players are going to go out and do what they're going to do.

The Oilers are the team with McDavid on it. Dude's 25 already. Other than a bunch of pts and one hit while the ELCs are hot run, they got nothing to show for him yet. GM changes. Coaching changes. Pressure is building.
