8PM Edmonton start time? Oof, that seems a bit brutal....is the NHL saying there's potentially more money to be made broadcasting the first round to the King's preferable time frame vs Edmonton's?
Probably more related to the national broadcast -- they are showing two games and trying to not have them overlap.

First 5-10 minutes will be key. Edmonton has not played a playoff game in front of a normal home crowd in 5 years, the crowds is going to be nuts and the Kings will have to weather the storm.

For those who think Kopitar (and Danault) play to much, you may not like what you see tonight, my guess is they will play a ton in the games in EDM.

The time has passed for complaining about Kopitar's time on ice. This is playoffs. You leave everything on the ice.

Man its been so long since we've been in the playoffs that I don't remember how I'm supposed to feel. Like I know I'm supposed to feel the nerves, but I'm relatively calm right now. Maybe I'll start to feel it closer to puck drop.
Same.

I think it's because we're the underdogs and I legit thought we weren't even making the playoffs this year.

So all this is just a pleasant surprise.

I'm convinced he has the runs

Viktor Arvidsson is all of us

That crowd is exactly why we wanted to make the playoffs. The kids are going to crap themselves for probably the entire first game. It's a trial by fire.

The minutes are what they are at this time of year.

Same haha doesn't even feel like the playoffs. The nerves will kick in, in about 2 hours though I'm sure.

I'm just telling myself that the Kings are a good team playing another good team. If they win, great. If not, well, I'm not expecting a cup, so heartbreak is inevitable.

I've already largely avoided the main boards (I only stopped to look at the thread about Brown retiring). I dread reading the trash that gets posted there, so I'll probably avoid it completely.

If the refs call the game the penalties as close as they are in the Leafs game then the Kings cannot do dumb shit with Mcdavid

It’s not bad at all, people hate the oilers too much to dump on the Kings.

They said on the Leaf's broadcast that over the past 10 seasons refs have called more penalties in the playoffs than in the regular season.

That's yet another factor working against the Kings.
