Hard to play the top six offensive role when you get the highest dzone start % on the team on the 4th line next to plugs.

And for Tkachev, it's silly that the PP has been awful for years, but you find a guy who gives the PP a different element and...simply don't.
I'm sorry, i'm just completely over the treatment of these guys right now. I was under the impression that the end of training camp would mean the trimming of dead weight but instead it was the trimming of talent. I sure can't wait to waste money on Andreas Athanasiou's return to watch Kaliyev get sent down!
Nice to see Kupari and Kaliyev are being productive without handpicking or whining about their crappy linemates. You guys want Vilardi handed plum ice time and linemates without earning it. Not gonna happen.
Dude, you have no idea what a strawman argument is...and nope, its not just about points. They have to learn to play the whole ice, a concept that seems to be lost on here. You are by far the biggest strawman manufacturer on this board.
But hey, good point! Kupari and Kaliyev played great today! Guess what their reward was? ....the least icetime amongst forwards. You don't have a slight problem with that?

Carey price is out, they lost a couple guys to FA. What’s really surprising is Caulfield has only 1 point this season. What a tire fire over there in Montreal.Blake thinks we are cup contenders now. We just pounded a team that went to the cup finals last year..... God help us!

Always good to beat the crap out of Montreal, I don’t care who our HC, GM is, that was a good win.
Vets always get the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you've forgotten how Sutter would sit a rookie for the rest of the game after just one bad pass or missed assignment. I suspect there's a lot more going on with Vilardi that we don't know about.Definitely not lost. You think I don't understand the whole ice? I've been fighting for guys like Danault my entire time on these boardsI just want the whole roster held accountable in the same way at the VERY least. I know it's me asking a little much of TM to give a little bit of deference to youngster development, but if you're going to punish one guy, you've gotta apply it evenly.
Instead of burying vilardi and f***ing straight sending down tkachev when lias is out...why not "hmm this isn't working why don't I move Vilardi/Tkachev next to monster play drivers in Iafallo/Danault and Kempe down to help skate and forecheck?"
Instead--Kempe takes all sorts of lazy selfish ozone penalties? more icetime.
Kopitar loses his checks all night and lazily lets a guy skate by him for the game winner? Add playing time.
Vilardi starts a higher percentage of his 4th line shifts in the dzone than any other forward and fights to a stalemate? Benched.
Maatta quite literally ushers PLD to the doorstep for the GWG? Bench Strand.
It's f***ing crazy town. I understand giving a guy some time off to watch, learn--but when they're never put in positions to succeed and summarily executed in favor of the Lizottes and Maattas of the roster, it's trash.

You put players in a position to succeed. The Ducks are not playing Zegras on the 4th line getting the vast majority of his time on defensive zone face-offs playing on a line with plugs. Why? Because that's a waste of what he can do for your team. Not every player needs to be a 200 foot player, and expecting that from youngster is ridiculous. This is not a competitive roster, so play the kids where they have a better chance to succeed and let them develop there

Brown looks like he simply can't hang in the NHL anymore, and Kempe continues to take boneheaded penalties when we have any semblance of sustained pressure/momentum.

Bjornfot is our #1 defenseman right now. He has been amazing this season.Bjornfot, Kupari, and Iafallo with the three stars. Let's get the kids playing.
On the TSN broadcast they said the Kings are leading the league in shots on goal per game.
I couldn't believe it. But it's true:
Out of the top 13 teams in SOG per game, only 2 have a losing record. LA and Toronto.[TBODY] [/TBODY]
