QB made a bad play, agreed.
However, how can a team keep putting out failure for the first 1.5 minutes???
Isfallo??? Are you kidding me?
Kopitar over and over?

Plus, the Kings NEVER get a tip on a point shot like all the other teams in the league do. Horribly frustrating for a team so excellent 5:5.
thats all on the head coach. if both of his assistants arent fired in the offseason all of upper managment should be let go

You can be disappointed with Byfield without being in the he's the second coming of Aki Berg camp.
True. And calling him a bust at this point is nonsense and a waste of keyboard strokes... the main question is this: is your focus on the playoffs or development? I'd say if its playoffs put him back on the farm. I agree its hard to watch him and he is not helping the team.. id give him a couple more games and if nothing improves send him down.

Here’s the thing with QB, he didn’t start off this bad in the NHL. The only criticism was a lack of production, but no one was saying he looked like he belonged in the minors.

Since dumb shit Todd called him out in the press during a team slump, he’s gotten worse and worse.

Didn't say he's the second coming of Berg, come on, don't do what others do here and say stuff that simply isn't true, you are a better poster than that.

Right now he's playing at a level that Berg played as a rookie, doesn't mean he won't progress and get better, but as far as on-ice performance it's a fair comparison. He is completely lost.

55 just can't handle opposing teams pressuring him. This goes back to pre draft. Find a highlight reel play that didn't involve him on the rush? He's not bigger and faster than people anymore.

Most of his plays were off the rush. That’s what I didn’t like about him. I saw Stutzle being much better with the puck with a better game for the NHL. Byfield while young gets knocked off the puck way too easily, has shown no promise whatsoever since returning to the lineup. Plays with a short stick which indicates some questionable IQ on his behalf. He’s extremely weak on the puck. Has said he doesn’t want to change his body but he obviously needs to do something. Too soft, and shows very little talent on the NHL level.

In all my years as a fan, I've never seen a more inept group on the pp. 9 goddamn shorty's!!!!! NINE!!!!!! even the Andy Murray teams that were 9 pct on the pp weren't that bad. F-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That just suck the life out of the team. They just folded the rest of the period.

Sure, he's lost, but the 19-year-old excuse is impossible to argue against until it is no longer true and he is honestly not the reason the Kings are struggling. Going into a Byfield vs Stutzle death spin during the second intermission of a must-win game isn't going to prove much and I doubt the Kings brass are jumping off the balcony just yet with their decision so the assertions are equally as meaningless as if Stutzle being here would make this a slam dunk win for the Kings.

Who's had the worse development year? Turcotte or Byfield?

What did either gain from playing in the AHL last year? I hope this is a major learning experience for the Kings going forward. The problem is, those are the 2 highest picks of the rebuild and the development has been regrettable.

I'm not completely selling Byfield, but next year has to be a big step forward for him or there is a chance it gets away from the Kings. Guys taken that high who don't break through by year 3 are a longshot to ever live up to it. If I were him I'd spend the entire summer in LA working out both on the ice and in the weight room, he needs help in both areas. He needs to be a completely different player when the Kings break camp next season.

Re hickey - didnt know you can loan players like that in same league.. does that mean we could call him up?

I think him showing zero promise is far more harder to ignore than his age.

I’d understand him looking out of place and making bad plays while showing flashes of talent. He’s looked out of place and has shown no indication realistically to anyone since his return that he was a second overall pick.

I can't believe with how bad the 1st line and the PP have been that they continue to trot out the same guys. Iafallo in particular, I mean what is it going to take for him to lose his spot? 17 points in 49 games playing almost exclusively on the #1 PP and 1st line.
Hopefully when we get some bodies back, he'll sit or play down the lineup.

I think that we are all in agreement that the Kings' development program is failing the organization right now, but this is something that would not even possibly be addressed until the offseason, if at all.

Just staggering how much holding they let Vegas get away with! Iafollo was held from the back of the net all the way to the front.

No. He's on loan to Ontario but can't play for LA. I'm still not 100% sure how this is allowed but the previous poster who mentioned Matt Moulson is correct it's happened before and a few seasons ago the Kings loaned Daniel Brickley and another player I can't remember out to other AHL affiliates.
