I'm really happy those guys started getting rewarded because the play has been there, just not the production.

For Moore, it was something just wasn't clicking.
For Arvy, it was just raw shooting % (I knew it was going to correct at some point, just not in one single game haha).
For Danault, he just kind of stopped getting the puck to the net for a bit.

Funny because since all those guys had gone cold I figured both quarantining them on one line, facing Martin Jones, and struggling to get anyone else going would make it a low scoring game...but hockey.

I thought they were brutal against VAN.....and extremely good against PHI.....though I thought the VAN game, LA as a team played better.....

I'm away from my computer now but IIRC Drew had friggin 29 min of icetime, but 9 of it was special teams haha.

I remember being annoyed because he got the entire amount of PP time and Durzi got none.

Guess DD is fully recovered from COVID :dunno:
I am wondering if he had an asymptomatic case and/ or a really light case of Omicron

Yeah they've been up and down, don't get me wrong, but they're usually at least contributing if they aren't scoring...moore through checking/getting the puck thru the neutral zone, Arvy through play driving/shot volume, Danault through defense, pk, getting the puck going the right direction...but it was too many guys at once not scoring so you had to start looking at people. I'm glad their hard work turned into numbers!

We beat 2 teams on hot streaks with playoff points on the line, 7-0 and 5-0-2 in Vancouver and Philly after a brutal game vs Vegas. Both games we dominated with speed and forecheck. That should be our identity, use our speed to move the puck up ice out of our zone and transition to a forecheck. If they play with that mentality we'll win more than lose and might have a shot at getting into the playoffs. Steer clear of a long losing streak and we are in.

For the 3rd game in a row, I liked the overall play and vibe of all 4 lines, and I very much hope Brown and AA don’t ruin it all by returning anytime soon.

Games like the last couple make me VERY excited for next year, living in a post Brown, AA, and Maatta world with all that cap space.

I think Lizotte embodies the identity of our team right now. Hard forecheck. Really annoying. Don't give the other team any space. I thought Turcotte showed really well last night (in only a few minutes) and Lemieux is such a necessary component of this team. Kempe too. Kings have played two really good games that will translate in the playoffs as well. I like that Kings team.

It's clear that our defense is missing Edler right now though. This team would look even better with him in the lineup.

Has anyone seen anything about the likelihood he returns this year? I've only seen that he has a broken ankle but no prognosis. His looked worse than Byfield's since it was a side-to-side break versus Byfield's that didn't seem to pull on ligaments.

By next year, Doughty may be the third best option at RHD on the PP, but still get the bulk of minutes…Durzi and Clarke will be better RHD on the PP. More dynamic and creative than DD. Too bad they are all RHD.

Here was the TOI distribution from last night:

It's the same self-fulfilling prophecy they've done with the others...keep lowering their playing time so they get cold on the bench and play two shifts a period, then send them down going 'well they weren't making a difference.'

Its TMac thinking he’s saving his own career at the expense of the hockey players whose careers he’s supposed to be developing!

We know Colorado will surpass the Kings in the standings.

So if LA is going to make the playoffs, one team currently in front of them will have to fall.

It will be tough. I nominate Anaheim and Edmonton.

Quick, can you tell me the powerball numbers for next weeks draw? I mean f***, Clarke hasn't even finished his junior season and you got him slated as the next savior......

NO, but i did know you were going to write this exact response.

I will predict this, based on the last 3 weeks I have seen this over 25 times:
Matt Roy will have the puck and a 0% scoring chance (and about a 2% rebound chance, as his shot is 63 mph) and 45-55 feet out and he will choose to 100% every time shoot the puck, which often makes it through and hits the goalie in the logo. While 100% of the time, he had an open pass to the other point or another player, that was the superior option. 100% every time. After another week of this, let’s see if this plays out.

As much as I like what Lemieux and Lizotte have done this year, I am somewhat concerned about the fact that both are in contract years. It makes you wonder how sustainable their play is.

Lemieux looks like he's on the Drew Doughty nutritional plan, but it doesn't seem to slow him down.

When Brown comes back, I could see him replacing one of Grundstrom/Kupari on the 4th line.

No idea what Todd will do with AA. I'm actually amazed Todd has given AA as much leeway as he has. Usually he's the exact type of player coaches hate.

Moore was really solid last year. If he can get back to where he was, it will be a nice boost to the team.

Well considering that crack analyst, what the f*** are you doing in a day job, you are the next poster boy for ESPN Hockey.......
