Fix for the 1st line is to get Byfield up on a line causing havoc. Give teams something else to worry about.
The fix for line one is Byfield needs to be on it then trade Brown at the deadline and move Kopitar down a line. Maybe get a winger for Byfield instead of building around the same vets for years. How about a true goalscorer to play with Kempe and Byfield on a line.

Brown 1 in his last 22. That's your first line. Kempe carrying the goal scoring load for them.
And McLellan took Kempe off that line in the third in favor of Iafallo. Had nothing to do with Athanasiou going down, pretty sure it was done to try and get Kopitar going again.

And I'll second the coaching criticisms here, who the hell puts Arvidsson out to take a defensive zone draw in OT?

At this point TMac’s hand needs to be forced..
Brown needs to be dropped in the lineup and a kids needs to be inserted(lol)
Blake needs to address our lack of size and toughness on the backend.. Byfield needs to be brought up asap..
Kempe-Kopitar-Byfield
Iafallo-Danault-Vilardi
Arvidsson-Kupari-Kaliyev
Pepe-Lizotte-Moore

At what point do we start to wonder when Brown gets an extension…

I mean if Tmac insists on playing him this much, you think he is going to want to lose Brown?

Or just as bad, Blake is on board with all of this?

AA is dead again, too...hockey gods just do not want the Kings to get a single bounce this year
Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll call up some AHL lifer I’ve never heard of so that JAD can sit in the press box.

I laughed so f***ing hard when I saw him pull up to the dot and the graphic flashed his faceoff numbers: “0/0”. In OT. What the actual f***…

Just came to read a few pages of bitching about how the Kings suck after they played a really f***ing great game against a very good team...and lost after what could have been, maybe should have been a penalty.

What page should I start on?

Problem is you can say that in a lot of losses this year.

At some point losing one goal games repeatedly isn't as 'competitive' as it looks, especially when they keep snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Each one of them in isolation is a good game. Someone asked me offline "if they won tonight would you be bitching" because frankly, yes, it's a little silly that a skills competition bonus point was a big deal tonight but it's because it's a pattern of losing that they need to get over. I'm far over moral victories at this point, sick of them. "looking good", "looking competitive" that's all great, playing good teams tightly, that's nice. 5-10 in one goal games is absolute trash no matter how you paint it. And the other thing worth asking is how this looks without Quick in net. All that's happening--like on the 7 game winning streak--is we're getting lulled into a false sense of 'change' when all that's really happening is unsustainable goaltending that's just going to take us all the way to the black hole.

What I will grant is that they're actually watchable, that's a big change.

Kings may be 5-10 in one goal games, but they're 10-0 in moral victories! Yes I'm being a bit of an ass but losses irritate me. And yes every loss should be dissected. Poor overtime decisions don't get a pass because the Kings got a point in regulation.

Only one guy should take that draw and that's Danault. Danault/Doughty/Iafallo is my ride or die trio in OT.

i don't even want to know how many of our losses were games we held a lead in at any point

I dont think anyone could say they sucked tonight. Everyone played well and they should have won. This was a horribly coached game is the bottom line.

Unless we go 82-0 en route to a 16-0 cup run, I'm gonna find stuff to complain about. This is a discussion board where us hyper nerds geek out on hockey shit. If I want to nitpick anything, I'm gonna do it. These meta complaints are getting tiring. We're a shitty hockey team nearly a decade out from our golden years. Complaining to y'all is just about the only thing keeping me engaged with the Kings.

Yeah, him taking the draw was weird. There was no center center out there. Funny thing is he won it, Brown then made a sick pass to him and then with a wide open shot to win it , went high over the net.

Letting the Arvidsson trip go only for Quick to make the save but put the rebound in on himself is peak tragedy mode on their part

They call Perry getting tripped twice , [ both were dives as far as I'm concerned] . then in OT, let Hedman mug , hold, and manhandle Kempe in the corner, then allow the trip, the same one Perry drew earlier go. No wonder everyone was pissed. Although you wouldn't know it because Ballys kept the camera on Tampa the entire time .

Why this hurry.
This season is kinda gone. If any we fight for an unreachable playoff spot just to draft at a worse spot.
Also calling Byfield up to play on Kopitars wing is kinda weird considering Kopitar is the fading performance player.
If any, we have to keep Byfield and Vilardi in Ontario and move Kupari and Kaliev down to finish the season.
Let the Vets deal with the garbage they create

I understand that people get angry but this is not the time for panic moves.
The kids need a little bit more seasoning before they have an impact in the NHL

Sick? Bulldozed?

I keep seeing these massive exaggerations of Brown's play in OT. What I saw that hasn't been mentioned is his lack of mobility and back checking leading to both a breakaway and 3 on 1, including the game winner.

Dustin is as dead as disco and there is no excuse for putting his mummy out on the ice in OT in place of a center for a defensive zone draw.
