Problem is you can say that in a lot of losses this year.
At some point losing one goal games repeatedly isn't as 'competitive' as it looks, especially when they keep snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Each one of them in isolation is a good game. Someone asked me offline "if they won tonight would you be bitching" because frankly, yes, it's a little silly that a skills competition bonus point was a big deal tonight but it's because it's a pattern of losing that they need to get over. I'm far over moral victories at this point, sick of them. "looking good", "looking competitive" that's all great, playing good teams tightly, that's nice. 5-10 in one goal games is absolute trash no matter how you paint it. And the other thing worth asking is how this looks without Quick in net. All that's happening--like on the 7 game winning streak--is we're getting lulled into a false sense of 'change' when all that's really happening is unsustainable goaltending that's just going to take us all the way to the black hole.
What I will grant is that they're actually watchable, that's a big change.
