not even just the breakaway, but the play before that where he spun off the boards and had the 2 on 1.. bearing down the slot after that nasty move and he defers to the backhand pass into a defenseman.. drives me crazy. no killer instinct on this team

Even when he was tripped, he chose to stop up instead of shooting at the net, he had a guy right there driving to the net for the rebound . When I saw it , I was like..."shoot for the left pad, shoot for the left pad!!" And then he pulled up, to pass it to who?

Give it a couple of weeks and so will Grundstrom.

Depends how many games he gets

Grundstrom has scored three more goals (but three fewer points) than Brown in seven fewer games. Brown is also averaging nearly six minutes per game more than Grundstrom, so yes, Carl is clearly the more productive player. Brown is also averaging 2:40 per game on the power play, while Grundstrom is averaging 0:11.

Maybe I should amend the bottom six and sit Brown altogether!

Arvidsson - Byfield - Grundstrom
Lemieux - JAD - Moore

Yeah, so here’s the reality Kurrulino..
Kopitar isn’t fading out of the blue, he’s being buried with excessive PT by TMac whom I have to believe gets to finish out this season before he’s canned. The Kings are literally in the playoff hunt so I’m not sure wth you’re talking about? You want to shit can the season for what? This team struggles because there seems to be an underperforming anchor on every line which a kid could replace..
1st Brown
2nd Arvidsson
3rd AA
4th Moore
Brown is gone after this season I would think, if not Blake needs to be fired..
Arvidsson is a volume shooter that can’t seem to hit the ocean.. Good on Blake to try to find a scorer but Arvy isn’t it
AA needs to be released because he’s been struggling with injuries and at this point is taking a spot.. I know he’s hurt but he has no future here
Moore looked amazing with Tram USA but whatever happened between then and know?? The kid gives his all but he’s also taking a spot

TMac needs to take note of what Bjornfot, Anderson and Durzi have done when given PT and Patience to grow.. he and Blake so take that approach with the youngsters that are ready

Actually i agree with everythin you just said.
The only difference is, that i do not believe that we are in a playoff hunting position.

The race looks only virtually close because of Colorado and Vegas horrible starts.
Also Edmonton and Dallas had horrible losing streaks recently.
Those are the teams we have to beat and realistically i don't see that happening especially since we are looking way better than we are
because of Quicks stellar performance.
I really don't see all those factors continuing over a stretch of 82 games

I think we’ve had one of the toughest schedules in the NHL to date this season.. someone keep me honest if I’m wrong.. with that said, I think a lot of these surprise teams will begin to fade as the seasons moves along and trading season begins.. I don’t think the ducks or flames keep their pace and if you look at their schedules toward the end of the season.. it’s brutal!

In OT with the game on the line we had our best goal scorers in great positions to win the game, Kopi on the break away and Arvy on Brown's feed, both didn't deliver...game over. There is really not much more to say.

Me thinks tomorrow’s game will be postponed.

Depends. Florida has capspace due to Barkov injury. If no more cases, we will likely run following lines
Huberdeau-Lundell-Duclair
Denisenko-Luostarinen-Reinhart
Vatano-Thornton-Tippett
Heponiemi-Dalpe-Hornqvist

Similar line-up to what we beat Carolina (undefeated at time). D would be:
Weegar-Ekblad
Juolevi-Kiersted
Carlsson-Priskie

This D would be four AHLers and a possible Team Canada Olympics pairing

Reactions: Prominence Problem
The shortcoming with the moves to get RV, Danault & Edler is they don’t move the needle when accounting for the resources expended. The Kings have 8 players with 50+ SOG, all playing the full 27 games to date, except RV (20 games, #3 in SOG) and Kaliyev (26 games, #8 in SOG).

Guess who leads the team? Dustin Brown with 87 shots producing 3 goals in 27 games for a 3.5% average. And he’s dash 1. The best shooter is Kempe at 14.7%, which should quiet critics about consistency issues, but won’t because he’s a whipping boy (unfairly IMO). Danault is 7th at 6%, which is why it’s safe to yawn when the puck is on his stick anywhere near the other teams goalie.

Ideally you get 90 points of offense by chucking $12M at 3 guys who play 17+ minutes a night. Maybe the Kings get there with Blake’s offseason trio, they’ve collectively got just about 40 points over a quarter through the season. But with health issues and low shooting percentages, they may barely get there. I doubt they exceed it.

And even if they do while maintaining their current rates of production, with only Kempe as the most consistent player among 20 other shooters, the Kings forecast to get 3 goals a night is bleak. It’s sad hallmark for Blake to continually take half measures and receive at best marginal results.

Just for additional context of how grim this is (and hammering home questions of development):
- pretty sure most will agree this is Kempe's best season. He's 25.
- he's still scoring at a worse clip than Tyler Toffoli's peak, which was 58 points in 82 games. This was when Toffoli was 23 for most of the year (in 2015-16).

So for as much as people are praising Kempe's breakout season, he's still older and less productive compared to Toffoli, who essentially topped out as a second liner.

Maybe not for you but I got plenty to talk about.

We are really complaining about shooting % on a guy who is on pace for 60 points and 64% CF. Moreover a guy who only costed only a 2nd and 3rd and has a $4.25 cap hit for another 3 seasons? On a team with only one 60 point scorer in the last half decade?

When you say all that, it sounds like something good ?

The reality is that a 1st line winger isn't cutting it at 60 points especially when points are not a good measure
for wingers.
A 1st line winger needs to have 30+ goals or you are not competing for the cup regardless if any Kings player archived that for years or not.
It also doesn't matter if he costs a 1st rounder or a 7th rounder if he can't fill his role.
Most of his goals come from weird redirections from his equipment when he is being shot by team mates.

Are you saying the bulk of HOF'er Luc's goals shouldn't be counted?

Kings had zero 30 goal scorers during their cup winning years.

As for how his goals are scored, I don't care if he farts the f***ing pucks in. What an absurd criticism.
