I still can't believe we signed him to a deal before the season. With his resume leading up to the season, you take the chance and try to sign him mid-year based on his play. If he decided not to sign this season, so be it. But you don't give him a five-year deal before the f****** season.

Thing is, he's saying what a lot of us here have been bitching about. If you are a kid and your bread and butter is offense, you need to show it and not be stuck reactively trying not to hurt the team instead of proactively trying to help.

In order to do so they need to change philosophies, give up chasing the playoffs, and let the kids work on their strengths not just their weaknesses. Just don't think that will ever happen with this management team and Kopitar and Doughty demanding to compete.

This game required an emotional response following yesterday's win, and literally no one playing tonight had it.

You gave me a heart attack thinking it was 5 years (it's 3 thankfully). I didn't hate the idea because you expect him to improve at this age with a larger role, and you go from paying an average salary to a much larger one. Instead he tanked but who woulda thought
