The Oilers have a similar overall record without TM than they do with TM, and 0 playoff series wins, despite a superior McDavid and Draisaitl. I think it’s time to dismiss the notion that TMac was the problem in Edmonton. So didn't Todd have McJesus and Draisaitl and then got fired because the Oilers were terrible? Hmmm...
Might be one of the worst performances of the year tbh. Team completely lacked any sort of effort and compete tonight, top 6 in particular
Tmac is desperate. He knows his job is on the line and the team is not responding.that was quite the line blender going on there late huh
think i saw kopitar-moore-lias and lizotte-brown-arvidsson
Good for Durzi, glad he got on the board, but he better turn into Paul Coffey 'cause that was the single worst defensive game I have ever seen from a Kings blueliner.
I like a good dose of hyperbole and all, but I am not kidding. He was completely lost and it turned every coverage into a clown show. That doesn't fly in the AHL, and he was roasted tonight.
Well... a route was coming sooner or later, just wish it wasn't against the Leafs... Happy for Durzi, though he will be punished for it and his offense will be beaten out of him and sent back to the AHLI had tickets to the game tonight and had to change my travel plans and exchanged them for Saturday instead... Hopefully, they have a better showing then...
To be fair, he's an offensive defenseman in his first NHL game paired with Olli Maatta against one of the best teams in the league, in a game where we saw one of the worst displays of team defense in a while. He was brutal, but singling him out specifically when even Kopitar looked silly on several goals doesn't seem right.
No, no, I am no fan of Maatta's, he has the impulse control of a pcp enthusiast, but he was not a problem tonight. Durzi was taking up completely unprofessional positions, indicating he was going to do something then not doing it, stuff you just don't see at this level. Threw the whole team into scramble mode every shift, defensive hockey requires trust and Durzi was doing things that just confused everyone and Maatta ended up trying to do the job of both shift after shift.
He is well, well behind Clague.
Lias Andersson had a team low 9:36 of ice time
He had 6 shots on goal, and led the team in scoring chances (5) and high danger chances (4). Very impressive, so he will likely be scratched next game.
Whatever good they did, they've wiped it away since the road trip ended. Hasn't been the easiest schedule, but of course they couldn't even beat the Coyotes.
Seems like this might be where the season gets away from them, unless someone can stop the bleeding.
Nice post. You wonder with the level of nepotism from the top of the org down, can they ever make the right decisions.. Could Luc pull trigger on Blake - prob not. Could Blake move Kopi, DD or Brown no he couldnt. I hope that having worked under DL Blake would understand a rebuild cant be half-assed it has to be all in.Anyway, just another episode of Gilligan's Island. This is season three, episode 19 or whatever. Same one where they almost get better, but ultimately don't.
There has been zero progress under Rob Blake, and praising him for collecting quality prospects isn't going to fly much longer. Same old same old. Old guys kept around to lead, but don't. Young guys play relatively well, see their combos broken up to jump start the moldy oldies then lose confidence while the vets get no repercussions.
No pride, no progress, no plan.
