GDT: 2021-22 season game 15 LA Kings vs Winnipeg Jets @4:00pm 11/13/21

It was because Kempe didn't attack the net, he just strolled in late and Anze ran out of options.

Then Anze gave the worst player on the ice tonight all the room he needed.
i'd have to watch again but i think he had options there to retain possession, either rolling below the goal line or cutting back to clague

it just like, didn't have to be a shot or a backdoor play imo

Special teams are....special for sure

This is team if for real -- they are outskating fast teams and we've still got Byfield and Turcotte waiting in the wings.

And we’re still missing some current weapons too, like Arvidsson, Andersson, Vilardi.

Cal played fine. None of those goals were bad goals against.

It's just so damn frustrating that a PP gave up a goal that costs us 2 points.

yeah, blaming Cal takes the focus off a recurring problem.

I would speculate that he didn't want to hold on flat footed and risk losing possession, but he opened himself up to look for Kempe who just didn't join in the attack.

I havent heard anyone explain why this team should keep winning..esp when the PP1 is mediocre -1 tonite. My thought is they have outskated and gotten to loose pucks 5 on 5 better than all the teams theyve played on the streak. So they have more posession and more shots. Otherwise i cannot explain it.. maybe its the system also.

We had a good run happy about the turnaround. 7 out of 8 points I'll take that any day. Now a lost after 7 straight how will this team respond against two very good teams. Hoping the 1-5-1 team don't show up.

there's good things there but i don't think it's out of line to suggest that the streak was overperformance.. i'm not sure this 2nd line is sustainable, god bless em, but they're on another planet right now

if they come down to earth and the power play starts like... existing... there's no reason this team can't win some games if they're engaged. i think that was a key to the road trip so far, everyone looks like they give a shit, i didn't really see that early on this season

Kings played a TEAM game tonight.

Everybody complained about this team being flat, unemotional, heartless and boring over the past few seasons.

Suddenly this team is playing together, getting chippy, mixing things up, playing tight D. Games are exciting. How did this happen?

Maybe DD absence created the vaccuum filled by guys excited to step up - also 48 adds some balls to the team that are gone most of the time

They consistently outskate and outshoot teams, and have been playing great defense keeping most opportunities to the outside. They might not have enough talent (in the lineup) to turn those games into runaways frequently, but they should be on the right side of the box score most nights if they keep doing that--and their bad shooting had been getting counterbalanced by good goaltending. Their forechecking has been outstanding across all four lines.

However they absolutely HAVE to figure out the special teams...it's one thing if the PP isn't giving you extra goals to one games, it's quite another when it's actively HURTING you by giving up SHGs. PK has looked good at least, but the things they have to work on are the same as when we started--special teams, holding leads. Much of that will be gaining experience.
