Colin Fraser was definitely an unsung hero of the first cup. I remember the fourth line being crap before he came along, he gave it an instant identity and it went from an area of weakness to one of strength.

That lineup was insane! 1st and 2nd line looks like something out of a video game.
I did. Only because I hade that exact 1st and 2nd line in NHL12 that yearNobody said that prior to winning the cup.

The cup is won in July of '12, NHL12 comes out in October of '12 = you did not say that before they won the cup.
That 2012 blueline 1-6 is probably the best defensive core in the modern cap era. And they had the stats to back it up.
I dunno about you, but +27 goals in a season, assuming relatively strong goals against, is pretty significant.
Better overall team defense is also an expectation.
Assuming all 27 additional goals went to one-goal games they lost, that's a good bump in the standings.
If you expected a bottom-5 offense to become top-10, then the issue is with unrealistic expectations.
But also 10 more for the Sharks.Martin Jones is no longer in SJ, so that's at least 3 or 4 more wins.
3 guys who could score and defend, 3 guys who could play hard and defend. You couldn't ask for a better set up.
