Each pair of that defense had a tough stay at home player. Other teams were worn down. Voynov was actually pretty tough, he smoked a guy in an AHL fight and Doughty and Martinez were hitting people left and right.

The cup is won in July of '12, NHL12 comes out in October of '12 = you did not say that before they won the cup.

The year of the cup win is in the title. So the last release was NHL21, even though it came out in Oct 2020.

The release date of NHL12 was Sept 9, 2011.

I dunno about you, but +27 goals in a season, assuming relatively strong goals against, is pretty significant.

Better overall team defense is also an expectation.

Assuming all 27 additional goals went to one-goal games they lost, that's a good bump in the standings.

If you expected a bottom-5 offense to become top-10, then the issue is with unrealistic expectations.

yup, thank goodness Tambellini botched the Smyth trade...could have been Brule
